Hello readers,
Today I have the Zoya Element collection for Fall 2018 to share with you. This collection features a mix of softer shades along with some vampy and metallic fall classics. Let's take a look at swatches.
Ruthie
Ruthie is light rose pink creme. The formula was nicely pigmented, easy to work with and took two coats for full coverage. Photos show two coats of Ruthie with one coat of CND Creative Play top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Rumor
Rumor is a pale blush pink with a pearl shimmer. The formula was nicely pigmented and easy to work with taking two coats for full coverage. I found the brush strokes in this one were a little noticeable but the formula doesn't drag at all, so you can take a little extra time to minimize them. Maryann
Maryann is a medium rosy pink with a pearl shimmer. The formula was nicely pigmented taking two coats for full coverage. There were some minor brush strokes in the finish for this one but nothing too obvious. Photos show two coats of Maryann with one coat of CND Creative Play top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Kendra
Kendra is a medium muted plum creme. The formula was excellent taking two thin coats for full coverage. This dries relatively shiny on its own but I added top coat out of habit. Photos show two coats of Kendra with one coat of CND Creative Play top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Donnie
Donnie is a medium berry pink creme. It had the same easy two coat formula as the other cremes so far. Photos show two coats of Donnie with one coat of CND Creative Play top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Jenna
Jenna is a light cool-toned pink creme. The formula was very easy to work with taking two thin coats for full coverage. This dries relatively shiny on its own but I added top coat out of habit. Photos show two coats of Jenny with one coat of CND Creative Play top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Devin
Devin is a steel blue foiled shimmer with gold and copper flecks. The formula was easy to apply though I recommend waiting a little extra time between coats to avoid dragging. I used three coats here for full coverage, but it was so close after two that if you have shorter nails or a less distict nail line two will likely be enough. Gardner
Gardner is a medium blurple foiled shimmer with magenta and gold flecks. The formula was similar to Devin, easy to apply but extra dry time between coats will help avoid dragging. Photos show two coats of Gardner with one coat of CND Creative Play top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Maeve
Maeve is a medium warm purple creme. Another great formula taking two coats for full coverage. Photos show two coats of Maeve with one coat of CND Creative Play top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Rachael
Rachael is a dark vampy aubergine purple creme. The formula was nicely pigmented taking two coats for full coverage. It also dries with a deep squishy finish which I love. Photos show two coats of Rachael with one coat of CND Creative Play top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Alyssa
Alyssa is a crimson red creme. It has the same great two coat formula as the rest of the cremes in this collection. Photos show two coats of Alyssa with one coat of CND Creative Play top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Leighton
Leighton is a blackened plum creme. The formula was very pigmented taking two thin coats for full coverage. I think this one will make a good stamping polish as well. Photos show two coats of Leighton with one coat of CND Creative Play top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Conclusion
My personal favorites from this release are Maeve and Leighton. Overall, the formulas of the cremes and pearl shimmers were consistently excellent. However, I found that this collection contained a lot of pink shades, as did the summer Sunshine Collection. I was hoping to see a bit more colour variety. The Element collection is available now. You can find Zoya on
Happy polishing,
Michelle
