Weleda Cuticle Softener Pen & Nail Care Pen Review

Weleda Cuticle Softener Pen

Hello readers,
Today I have a a couple of nail care items from Weleda to share with you. I've really enjoyed other skincare items from this brand in the past, so I was excited to try these out. Let's take a look at how they worked out.

Cuticle Softener Pen

The Cuticle Softener Pen is designed to moisturize and push back cuticles all with one tool. The pen itself contains a hydrating formula containing pomegranate seed oil and calendula flower extract, among other ingredients. You're supposed to apply that to your cuticles and let it soak in for a little bit before using the tip to push them. Unfortunately I could barely get any liquid out of this pen. I'm not sure if I got a dud applicator or if the contents had dried up but my cuticles were left mostly dry which wasn't great for pushing them back. This just didn't work for me.

When I looked at this pen I immediately assumed it was a cuticle oil pen, even though the name doesn't contain the words cuticle or oil. This actually contains for of a salve like formula with ingredients like pomegranate seed oil, shea butter and beeswax. It has a light lemon honey scent which I love and absorbs easily. The salve gets pushed into the brush tip by a twist mechanism athe the bottom of the pen. Learn from my over-zealousness and don't twist it too much too fast when first using this pen. With 2.2ml of product my only wish is that it came in larger packaging; perhaps a thicker pen tube like the Cuticle Softener Pen. I feel like I'll got through this fairly quickly and then have to toss the plastic packaging.

Conclusion

My favorite item of these two is definitely the Nail Care Pen. You can find these along with lots of other Weleda products on Well.ca:

Happy polishing,

Michelle
