BVspa by Bon Vital' Salt and Sugar Scrubs Review

Besg salt scrub

Hello readers,
Today I have a line of body scrubs that recently became available to Canadians to share with you.  I've stated many times that I prefer a natural grit in my scrubs instead of the tiny plastic beads.  I find they are just more effective, and they are significantly better for the environment.  The Canadian government agrees, and recently banned microbeads by adding it to the Environmental Protection Act's list of toxic substances.  BVspa skips the microbeads and brings together natural ingredients to create some effective and delicious smelling scrubs.

Pomegranate & Acai Berry Salt Scrub

The first thing I thought when I opened up the salt scrub was that it smelled delicious enough to eat.  The scent is very fruity, sweet and crisp.  This scrub combines dead sea salt to give a high level of exfoliation and olive and jojoba oils to hydrate skin.  The formula was really thick and rich and left a light lather once the salt dissolved.  The oils didn't leave any sticky or greasy residue and overall left my skin feeling soft.  The only issue I had with this product was the packaging itself.  The scrub is quite thick so you have to squeeze the tube fairly hard to the product out.  Not a deal breaker, but perhaps a jar would have made things a little easier.

Pink Grapefruit Sugar Scrub

First impression: this smells like you just cut into a grapefruit.  The scent is crisp and sour in a citrus kind of way.  This scrub combines sugar for a medium level of exfoliation with safflower seed, jojoba and olive oils to hydrate skin.  The sugar grains in this scrub were a little finer that the salt grains in the salt scrub but I found they took longer to dissolve.  Once the sugar dissolved it left behind a moisturizing lather than rinsed easily.  Like the salt scrub, the thick formula made getting it out of the tube a little tricky but not impossible.

Conclusion

My personal favorite formula was the sugar scrub.  The longer lasting grit which allowed me to scrub longer was the main difference for me.  However, the Pomegranate & Acai Berry scent was the winner in my books.  Though the Pink Grapefruit would be great for waking up in the morning, the fruity pomegranate scent just felt luxurious.  Both the sugar and salt formulas are available in the two scents mentioned here as well as Lavender & Rosemary.  BVspa offers body lotions and butters in these three scent combinations as well.  For Canadians, BVspa products are now available at Shoppers Drug Mart.  To learn more check out BVspa on

Happy polishing,

Michelle
