Zoya Urban Grunge Metallic Holos Collection Swatches & Review

Hello readers,
Today I have the metallic holos from the new Zoya Urban Grunge collection to share with you. This half of the collection features a mix of shiny metallics and jelly scatter holos. If you didn't see my swatches of the one coat cremes from this collection be sure to check them out as well. Let's take a look at some swatches.

Troy

Troy is a metallic charcoal grey packed with teeny tiny fleckes in silver to gold. The forumla was good and took two coats to become opaque. Though brush strokes are possible with this finish, they are fairly easy to avoid. Photos show two coats of Troy with one coat of Zoya Armor top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Merida

Merida features a forest geen jelly base filled with small holo silver flakes. The formula was a dream. It is became opaque in two easy coats and dried smooth and shiny on its own. This reminds me of shades like Aurora and Storm but with larger holo particles. Photos show two coats of Merida with one coat of Zoya Armor top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Ash

Ash is a bright metallic cherry red with tiny flecks of fuchsia and copper. No formula issues to report. It was quite pigmented and I didn't have any indication of pesky brush strokes. Photos show two coats of Ash with one coat of Zoya Armor top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Alicia

Alicia is a pale silver flecked holo with a strong yellow gold sheen. The formula was more sheer than the rest of the collection, requiring three coats to become opaque. I really wanted to like this one, but the yellow sheen just did not get along with my skin tone. However, if yellows and golds are shades that look good on you, then this could be a good option. Forgive the nick on my ring finger. I didn't even realize it was there until I took the up close macro shot. Finley

Finley features a rich royal purple base filled with holo silver flakes. It has the same excellent formula as Merida and took two coats to become opaque. This is my personal favorite from the collection. Photos show two coats of Finley with one coat of Zoya Armor top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Britta

Britta is a berry metallic with flecks of fuchsia and pale gold. The formula was quite pigmented and easy to work with. You could get away with one careful coat or go with two thin coats like I did here. The finish has quite a shimmery glow to it and this is my favorite of the three metallics from this collection. Conclusion

Some of my favorite Zoya polishes are their squishy scatter holos so I was really happy to see them come back in this collection with the twist of larger holo particles. The Urban Grunge metallic holos along with their cream counterparts are available now. You can find Zoya on

Happy polishing,

Michelle

    1. They are all lovely, but I can't resist the squishy holo purple that is Finley. It is the winner in my eyes. :)
