Hello readers,
Today I have the July 2016 edition of Hello Waffle Cosmetics' Visage subscription to share with you. This month's theme was Tamamo No Mae, which is the first theme since I subscribed that was unknown to me. Tamamo No Mae is a mischievous fox spirit from Japanese folklore. This fox spirit disguised itself as a young courtesan who was both beautiful and extremely intelligent making her irresistible to the emperor. Tamamo No Mae made the emperor ill, hoping to take over his rule but was discovered by a fortune teller brought in to determine the source of the emperor's illness. The fox spirit escaped to the countryside where it was eventually hunted down by the emperor's army so it wouldn't cause any more trouble in the land. The warm oranges, browns and neutrals that come to mind when you think of a fox were the inspiration for this month's colour scheme.
Hello Waffle Cosmetics Fox In Disguise Eyeshadow
Fox In Disguise is a pale creme with coppery pink sparks and a subtle green glow. The formula was very pigmented and applied really smoothly. My pictures do not do it justice. The pink sparks are much brighter in real life. I just could not get them to show up.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics Miura Eyeshadow
Miura is a matte warm chesnut brown. Over primer I found it had subtle taupey purple undertones. The formula was good. A good universal shade for those with a smaller shadow collection but I feel like anyone who's already has a good collection will likely own something very similar.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics An Evil Sickness Eyeshadow
An Evil Sickness is a shimmery dark chocolate brown with subtle flecks of pink and green. In some lighting I also found it had a purple sheen. The formula was good but like Miura, I feel like this is similar to shadows I already own.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics New Treasures Fairy Dust Overshadow
Fairy Dust Overshadows are new to me. I've purchased a couple before but hadn't had the chance to use them so this was my first experience with what I'm calling a shadow-glitter hybrid. New Treasures is a sparkly bronze with pink, gold and copper sparks. The result was super shiny but not overwhelming. I think this would make a great center lid or inner corner accent. Be sure to use a primer with this one as it really made the sparkly goodness stand out.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics Tamamo Blush
Tamamo is a soft peach blush with a satin finish. Over my medium skin this is a super subtle shade when blended out. I think i could even use it as a highlighter. I think it will be really nice for giving a subtle glow on days where I don't feel like putting much time into my makeup.

Notoriously Morbid Gold Unalloyed Diablo Lip Rouge
This month's guest indie was Notoriously Morbid Cosmetics. I've used their eyeshadows and lip balms before but this was my first experience with any of their coloured lip products. Formula-wise this lipstick was great. The shade is really pigmented and I love that it somehow has a metallic finish without looking super frosty. However, this warm coppery shade just does not work for me. I don't see myself wearing it again.

Conclusion
Overall this month's neutral palette is great for those with small collections who are still gathering those staple shades. For those with a reasonably sized shadow collection I think that there may be some overlap with what they already own. However, Fox In Disguise was more unique with it's pink sparks and I don't own anything like New Treasures. You can find Hello Waffle Cosmetics on:
Happy polishing,
Michelle
