BVspa by Bon Vital' Salt and Sugar Scrubs Review

Besg salt scrub

Hello readers,
Today I have a line of body scrubs that recently became available to Canadians to share with you.  I've stated many times that I prefer a natural grit in my scrubs instead of the tiny plastic beads.  I find they are just more effective, and they are significantly better for the environment.  The Canadian government agrees, and recently banned microbeads by adding it to the Environmental Protection Act's list of toxic substances.  BVspa skips the microbeads and brings together natural ingredients to create some effective and delicious smelling scrubs.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths Review & Giveaway

Hello readers,
Today I have a new product from Cetaphil to share with you.  If you're like me, you want a no nonsense easy way to clean your face at the end of the day which will leave you feeling fresh.  Cleansing cloths are a great option (I especially love them while traveling) and I'm looking forward to see how Cetaphil's Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths perform.

These Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths are advertized to remove dirt and makeup with no soap, no irritation and no rinsing.  They are suitable for face and body, leave your skin feeling fresh and clean, ophthalmologist tested and are fragrance-free.

Now it's time to put to put these cleansing cloths to the test.  I tried them out on a day when I was wearing some makeup that included Cover Girl concealer, Urban Decay Primer Potion, Quo Back To Basics eye shadows, The Balm Cindy-Lou Manizer, Julep Kajal eye liner, GOSH Giant Blush and ModelCo Party Proof lipstick.

Before After

The Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths did a good job of removing my makeup with one exception - the eye makeup. It took some scrubbing to get all the shadow off and I wasn't able to get all the liner off. The cloths did leave my skin feeling clean and moisturized though. If you're wearing much make up I would suggest using a dedicated make up remover first and then using the cloths to deal with any remover residue and to clean up the rest of your face. After using these for a few days I didn't notice any negative side effects such as break outs (which I am prone to) or dry skin. I will definitely consider these as an option for when I'm traveling or just need a refresher part way through the day. If you want to give these cloths a try make sure to enter the giveaway below where you have the chance to win one of ten 10-packs of Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths along with a $3 Off coupon.

Garnier Clean+ Makeup Removing Lotion Cleanser Review

Product has been provided by Garnier Canada, the opinions and language are my own, and in no way do they reflect Garnier Canada.

Hello readers,
Today I have a new product from Garnier to share with you.  I was sent their Clean+ Makeup Removing Lotion Cleanser to try out and review.  I tested it out in two ways.  First as a stand alone cleanser and second as a makeup remover.

Test 1: Full Face Cleansing

After cleansing with Garnier+ Makeup Removing Lotion Cleanser
The first thing I tried with the cleanser was using it as a full face cleanser.  I was wearing light make up (some blush, highlighter and tinted lip balm) and washed my face with the cleanser.  The above photo shows me right after cleansing without using any other skin products.  First off, do not mix this cleanser with water before applying it to your face (like I did the first time).  It will just end up breaking down in your hands.  Once I figured out how to use it properly, I washed and rinsed my face.  I did find that it did leave a slight residue on my skin, but that quickly absorbed and left my face feeling very moisturized.  I didn't feel like I needed to add extra moisturizer afterward.

Test 2: Matte Lipstick Removal

My next test was using this as a spot make up remover.  Usually people would try this out on waterproof mascara, but I rarely wear mascara so I decided to do the experiment with a product I use more often, matte lipstick.  I tried it out on a ColourPop matte lipstick in Flawless after a full day's worth of wear and reapplying.  I applied the makeup remover cream with my fingers and gently massaged it around a little bit.  After briefly resembling a zombie with burgundy smeared all around my mouth I used a cotton pad to wipe everything off and the result was nice clean lips.  Again, there was no lasting residue and there wasn't a trace of lipstick to be seen.

Before After
Conclusion
Overall I really like this as make up remover.  I especially love its creamy formula that doesn't leave any lasting residue on my skin.  I don't think this can replace your regular facial cleanser in your skin care regiment but it makes a great addition to your evening routine as a make up remover.

Happy polishing,

Michelle

Pretty & Polished Luxurious Lime Bath Bomb Review

Disclaimer:  This product was offered at a reduced price or at no charge to manicuremanifesto.com in exchange for published reviews.  All reviews are fair, honest and reflect my personal opinion.

Oh man is it ever hot out today!  Of course I chose today to finally motivate myself to start running again too.  That meant that once I got back home I was a big mix of sweat and achy legs.  A nice soak in the tub was needed ASAP.  I also got my Pretty & Polished Luxurious Lime Bath Bomb sample in the mail today.  Coincidence? I think not.  Time to see what this bath bomb was all about.

To me this smells more like a candy lime than a sour lime.  It reminds me of the smell of lime jello.  Personally I would have preferred a more sour lime scent but I'm sure there are people out there who like the candy lime better too.  I tossed it in the tub as it was filling with water.  When they say bomb, they really mean it.  I wasn't expecting much to happen but it started fizzing like crazy.  Since I didn't expect that I didn't have my good camera on hand, but I managed to snap a quick shot with my phone.

A quick note, I did find that this made the bottom of my tub a bit slippery so be careful when you first step in!  This bomb contains ingredients like natural sea salt, vitamin E, coconut oil and essential oils.  I did find that my skin felt quite soft afterwards.

If you want to get some of your very own check out the Pretty & Polish Bath and Body section at https://www.shopprettyandpolished.com/collections/balms-and-creams.  They have lots of other flavors if lime isn't your thing.  I already loved Pretty & Polished's polishes and they've lived up to their reputation with this bomb.
