Today I have a couple items from a new-to-me brand to share with you. Rocky Mountain Soap Company is a Canadian brand that focuses on skin and hair care products that are handmade with natural ingredients. Let's take a look at their Peppermint Shave Bar and Rosemary Mint Shampoo.
Peppermint Shave Bar
The Peppermint Shave Bar features cooling peppermint, rich cocoa butter and fair trade organic shea butter as its main ingredients. I didn't get a significant amount of lather off this bar, but that didn't seem to matter. It still provided a slick surface to help my razor glide without skips or jumps, and I didn't experience any razor burn or irritation afterwards. This shave bar will also last a really long time compared to the usual can of shave gel. At $5.95CAD this is also a budget friendly option.
Rosemary Mint Shampoo
The Rosemary Mint Shampoo is sulfate and parabe free. While notes of rosemary come through, I found this had stronger overtones of pine. Looking at the ingredients, this makes sense since Pinus Banksiana (Pine) Extract is fourth on the list. Overall, this shampoo lathered easily and rinsed clean. Some mint based products give you a tingling sensation, but I didn't experience anything like that with this shampoo; though that may differ based on your skin type and sensitivity. I didn't receive the matching conditioner so I used this along with the conditioner that was already in my morning routine. At $15.50CAD this is comparable in price to some of the higher end drugstore shampoo brands.
Conclusion
My personal favorite of these two items is the Peppermint Shave Bar. I love that it gets the job done well at a really reasonable price. The minimal packaging to throw away and the ability to ditch an aerosol can is a bonus. You can find Rocky Mountain Soap Company on
