Today I have the Illimité Van Gogh Collection to share with you. This collection features a mix of shades and finishes inspired by the life and work of Vincent Van Gogh. Let's take a look at swatches.
Delicate Beauty
Delicate Beauty features a bright blue (cool) to pearly white (warm) thermal shifting base with a golden flecked shimmer and lots of small silver holo glitters. The formula was easy to work with. I used two coats for full coverage in the cool state. In the warmest state my nail lines to show through a tiny bit. This dries with a little bit of texture and a matte finish so I recommend a glossy top coat to smooth everything out. Melancholia
Melancholia features a sheer burnt orange jelly base filled with several size of silver and gold holo glitters and a fine blue shimmer. The formula was easy to work with, especially for a glitter. I used three coats for full coverage. This shade does dry down with some glitter texture so I highly recommend top coat to smooth things out. One is enough to get rid of most bumps, two would be required for a perfect finish. Still Life
Still Life features a sheer teal jelly base filled with tiny blue flecks and an assortment of small gold glitters. The formula was a little finicky. I found that there was some dragging if I went over the same spot twice in one coat. I also had to do some dabbing and nudging to get even glitter coverage. However, I was pleasantly surprised with how smoothly this dried. I though for sure the glitters would need an extra coat of top coat, but one was more than enough. Sunflowers
Sunflowers features a rich yellow crelly base with small silver holo glitters and a pink flecked shimmer. The formula was easy to work with though a bit sheer. After three coats my nail line still shows through a little bit in certain lighting. This dries to a satin finish so I recommend top coat for shine. Starry Night
Starry Night features a deep denim blue (cold) to medium blue (warm) thermal base with fine silver shimmer and small silver holo glitters. The formula was easy to work with take two coats for full coverage. This dries down to a matte finish with some texture, so a good dose of top coat is highly recommended. Poppies
Poppies features a bright medium orange jelly base with red flecked shimmer and holo gold glitters. The formula was easy to work with though a tad sheer. I used three coats here for full coverage. Conclusion
My personal favorites from this collection are the two thermals, Starry Night and Delicate Beauty. Melancholia is also a super unique shade if you're looking for something different to add to your collection. The Van Gogh Collection is available now sold as a set and individually.
