Hello readers,
Beautometry recently sent me the A England Tudoresque Collection to share with you. This collection features a mix of holo shades inspired by the people and themes of Henry VIII's court. Let's take a look at swatches.
Jane Seymore
Jane Seymore is a deep olive green holo with tiny gold flecks. The formula was a tad thick but stilly relatively easy to work with. I used two coats for full coverage. This dries just slightly less than shiny so if you want a glossy finish top coat is recommended. Sir Loyal Heart
Sir Loyal Heart features a deep brown leaning purple holo base with tiny brass flecks. The formula was very pigmented requiring one coat for full coverage. Though this shade looks quite gold-copper in the bottle, it leans more purple on the nail. Photos show one coat of Sir Loyal Heart (except on middle finger where I accidentally smudged it and fixed it with a second) with one coat of Girly Bits Cosmetics What A Rush top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Anne Of Cleves
Anne Of Cleves is a pale pink scatter holo. The formula was very easy to work with and took two coats for full coverage. Photos show two coats of Anne Of Cleves with one coat of Girly Bits Cosmetics What A Rush top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Catherine Of Aragon
Catherine Of Aragon features a sandy beige holo base with small gold flecks. The formula was very easy to work with and took two thin coats for full coverage. It was close enough after a single coat that if you went for a bit thicker of a coat, one would likely be enough. Anne Boleyn
Anne Boleyn is a rich ruby red scatter holo. The formula was excellent taking two easy thin coats for full coverage. This has such a gorgeous squishy finish with lots of depth. Catherine Howard
Catherine Howard features a medium green leaning teal holo base with lots of tiny gold flecks. This one is another easy two coater. Photos show two coats of Catherine Howard with one coat of Girly Bits Cosmetics What A Rush top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Katherine Parr
Katherine Parr is a medium denim blue scatter holo. This had the same great two coat formula as the rest of this collection. No issues to report here, though top coat will add a little shine. The Most Happy
The Most Happy features a metallic grape purple base with a sprinkling of scatter holo and small silver flecks. I used two coats for full coverage and though this dries smoothly, top coat will help bring out the glowyness of this shade. Conclusion
My personal top picks from this collection are Sir Loyal Heart, Catherine Howard and The Most Happy. That's mostly due to personal colour preferences though since all of the polishes have solid two coat (or less) formulas. The Tudoresque collection is available now at Beautometry.
