My Top 10 Polishes of 2015
Hello readers,
As the year draws to an end, I looked back through all the polishes I tried this year and after much deliberation picked my top 10 to share with you. You can tell that I was drawn to blues, teals and purples throughout the year. Here they are in no particular order.

Subtle Brocade Stamped Nail Art
Hello readers,
Today I have some subtle stamped nail art to show you. I started out with a base of Elevation Polish Grotte et Cascade and stamped a brocade design using A England Lady Of The Lake and Moyou London Fashionista Collection plate 07. I sealed everything up with a coat of H.K. Girl top coat. The effect is a subtle shimmering brocade print that lights up when it catches the sun.

A England Captive Goddess Swatches & Review
Hello readers,
Today I have one of the polishes from A England's Rossetti's Goddess collection to share with you. At first I had convinced myself that I didn't need this one, but when I saw it in someone's destash for a great price, I couldn't resist. I'm glad I changed my mind.

A England Her Rose Adagio Swatches & Review... Plus Lace French Tips!
Hello readers!
I am really excited to show you today's mani because I am just in love with it. I will admit, I am not a pink polish person but, despite my anti-pink personality, I really love A England Her Rose Adagio from the ballerina collection. I think it's because it's a really pale almost bordering on silver pink, not a girly princess pink.
On top of being a pretty pale shimmery pink, this polish also has a really pretty scatter holo. The formula was amazing. It was opaque in two coats and was just so easy to work with. A England has one of the best and most consistent formulas around in my opinion. I also stamped lace french tips using China Glaze Liquid Leather and Bundle Monster plate BM18. Photos show two coats of Her Rose Adagio with one coat of HK Girl topcoat in natural lighting.
I am in love with this manicure. It's delicate and sexy all at the same time. As always, A England continues to impress. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.
Happy polishing,
Michelle

The Lacquer Legion February Challenge: Adoration
Hello readers,
It's that time of the month again... that is, it's time for another Lacquer Legion inspired mani! This month's theme was 'adoration'. To me, this meant something that you just can't take your eyes off of. Something that fills you with happy feelings and gives you a sense of awe. The thing that fit this idea perfectly for me was fireworks. I love these displays of glitter in the sky.
For my mani I used Morgan Taylor Under the stars as the background. Then I used my Nubar silver striper to make the whisps of the fireworks. I dotted A-England Encore Margot and Nubar Treasure to add more 'arms' to the fireworks. Finally I layered some Emerald & Ash Moonlit Snow and China Glaze Glistening snow in the center of firework to add some extra shimmer and sparkle. This was the final result.
If you want to join in the fun follow The Lacquer Legion on facebook to find out what next month's theme will be.
Happy polishing!

A England Ophelia Swatches & Review
Yesterday I got some new A Englands as a gift and I couldn't wait to try them out so even though it's the middle of summer I'm wearing a dark vampy purple, Ophelia. This polish is a super dark almost black purple base packed with a rich purple shimmer.
There's a trick to wearing these shimmery dark polishes that I'm going to share with you. Put on your polish as you normally would until it is opaque. For me this took two coats. At this point you'll be looking at your nails wondering why they don't look nearly as shimmery as the polish in the bottle. This is because the shimmer particles are covered up with a very thin layer of the purple base so they don't shine through very well. Wait until your polish is completely dry. Take a sponge (I used one that came with a China Glaze ombre set) and dip it in polish remover. Squeeze out any excess so the sponge is wet but not dripping. Then, drag it very gently up the nail surface. Don't apply pressure because then you'll just end up removing all your polish. You'll see the purple shimmer revealed. Once you've done this to all your nails apply your favorite top coat to seal everything up. Here are the results that I got.
Photos show two coats of Ophelia with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in natural sunlight. I love the depth of the shimmer in this polish, and I'm a sucker for a vampy purple. The sponge trick is definitely key to making this polish shine though so you will need to allot a little extra time to do it. In my opinion those few extra minutes are completely worth it.

A England Lady of the Lake Swatch
A England Lady of the Lake is a beautiful rich dark shimmery purple. In shade or most indoor lighting the shimmer has purple and silver tones. Get it in some sunlight though and tiny holographic glitter comes to life and adds a nice scatter holo to the purple. I personally like scatter holographic polishes way more than linear holographic polishes so this has just the right amount of rainbow sparkle for me. I was very pleased with the coverage and formula of this polish. It only took two coats to get opaque and the finish was amazingly smooth. The only reason I added a topcoat was for longevity. Check out the swatches below of this amazing polish. All pictures show two coats of Lady of the Lake with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat.
