Hello readers,
I have another shade from the Born Pretty Store stamping polish collection along with one of their stamping plates to share with you. Let's take a look at the nail art I created using them both.
Dark Blue Stamping Polish
The formula for this stamping polish reminded me a lot of the Green shade from the same line. The blue was very pigmented and I had no problems picking up the design or getting a crisp stamped image. Like the green, this polish had a strong smell, though it's not a deal breaker for me. I did experience some minor smudging when applying top coat so next time I just need to pay a little more attention and make sure to float the brush up the nail.
Stamping Plate BP-L060
The BP-L060 stamping plate was a little finicky. I found that the designs were etched a bit more shallow than I like. This resulted in some difficulty getting pigmented crisp images using my trusty regular polishes that usually double as stamping polishes. However, when using a dedicated extra pigmented stamping polish, like the BPS Dark Blue, I didn't have any problems picking up designs.
Shimmering Scales Nail Art
For this nail art I started with a base of Girly Bits Cosmetics Midnight In Paris topped with a coat of Native War Paints Changes. I used the BPS Dark Blue stamping polish and BP-L060 stamping plate to add the fish scale design. A coat of Girly Bits What A Rush sealed everything up. Photos were taken in daylight spectrum lighting.
I'm really happy with the dark blue stamping polish. It was really pigmented and easy to use. With regards to plate BP-L060, is it as versatile as some other plates I own? No. Will I use it again? Yes. I'll just need to make sure to only use it with stamping polishes. You can find Born Pretty Store on
Happy polishing,
Michelle
I had the exact same experience with both this plate and the stamping polish! It definitely works best with BPS's own stamping polish, which is super-pigmented and crisp, but dissolves easily under top coat.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear I'm not the only one who found the plate a little finicky. It's definitely still usable though.
