Hello readers,
A couple weeks ago I shared the first half of Zoya's 12 shade Wanderlust collection for summer 2017. Today I have the remainder of the shades to show you. Let's take a look at swatches.
Arbor
Arbor is a medium olive green creme. The formula was a tad thick but very pigmented. This right here is one coat for full coverage. Photos show one coat of Arbor with on coat of Girly Bits Cosmetics What A Rush top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Cora
Cora is a coral leaning orange creme. The formula was relatively easy to work with and took two coats to become opaque. I aimed for slightly thicker coats to achieve and even and level finish. Photos show two coats of Cora with one coat of Girly Bits Cosmetics What A Rush top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Journey
Journey is a very shimmery shimmery strawberry red. The formula was a bit sheer taking three coats to become opaque. In terms of application it was very easy to work with. In bright lighting this polish looks red, however in shaded lighting it also shows tones orange and copper like you can see in the bottle shot at the edges. Photos show three coats of Journey with one coat of Girly Bits Cosmetics What A Rush topcoat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Sawyer
Sawyer is a light peach creme. The formula was very similar to that of sawyer. I used two slightly thicker than usual coats here to ensure a streak free finish. Photos show two coats of Sawyer with one coats of Girly Bits Cosmetics What A Rush topcoat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Scout
Scout features an olive green base with a fine gold green shimmer. The formula was easy to work with and took two coats to become opaque. Photos show two coats of Scout with one coat of Girly Bits Cosmetics What A Rush topcoat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Sonja
Sonja is a bright medium creme right on the border of red and pink. My camera had a lot of trouble with this one. The shade does lean more red to the eye than it does in these photos. The formula itself was excellent. I was able to get full coverage in two thin coats. It has a slightly squishier finish than the other cremes in this collection which I love. Photos show tow coats of Sonja with one coat of Girly Bits Cosmetics What A Rush topcoat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Conclusion
Overall this half of the collection feels more Fall than Summer to me. Perhaps because of all of those green and orange tones. I think two olive greens in a collection is a bold choice. Not my personal favorite shade family, but if muted greens are your thing, Arbor and Scout are good options. My personal favorite from this half of the collection is Sonja. You can find Zoya on
Happy polishing,
Michelle
