Hello readers,
Today I'm testing out the Make Up For Ever Water Blend Face & Body Foundation. This formula promises to be lightweight with sheer to buildable coverage. I'm a 'foundation is for special occasions' kind of person, so I was looking forward to testing out this foundation as an option for those days when my skin needs a little something more than powder.
I picked out the shade Y325 - Flesh. After applying I decided it's a bit too light for my tanned summer skin, but I think it will be a great match for winter time. The formula itself is quite thin and sheer, which I had expected from the description. The bottle has a nice pump dispenser so I pumped some onto the back of my hand, dabbed it onto the Make Up Forever Ellipse Blender Sponge and bounced it over my skin.
Unfortunately I didn't find the Ellipse Blender Sponge very effective. Because the foundation has such a thin consistency, the sponge ended up absorbing most of the product. The result was minimal sheer coverage on my skin. I found switching to a foundation brush for initial application and then using the sponge to blend everything out made building up coverage much easier. After blending, this foundation had a natural dewy finish.
The photo below shows the MUFE Water Blend Foundation in shade Y325 applied with a foundation brush and blended with the MUFE Ellipse Blender Sponge. I finished the look with Covergirl Outlast All-Day Matte Finishing Powder in 830 - Light to Medium, Hourglass Mood Exposure blush and Luminous Bronze Light on my cheeks, Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal on my cheek bones.
If you're looking for a sheer natural finish this foundation could be a good option for you. If you need full coverage I don't think this is quite buildable enough to meet that need. You can find Make Up Forever On
Happy polishing,
Michelle
