Hello readers,
Today I have my first ever shade from Tonic Polish to share with you. This brand has been on my radar for a little while, and the maker seems to love jewel tones as much as I do. I finally took the plunge at Indie Expo Canada and added some Tonics to my collection.
Enchanted Elixir features a deep blue base with a very strong fine violet shimmer, small holo glitters and a soft shift to green. The formula was a tad thick but still relatively easy to work with. It was also quite pigmented and took two coats to become opaque. This polish dries to a satin finish so top coat is probably a good idea to really bring out the shimmer. Photos show two coats of Enchanted Elixir with one coat of Girly Bits Cosmetics What A Rush topcoat in daylight spectrum lighting.
... and a couple more in shaded lighting so you can see the green shift.
Lindsay, the maker of Tonic Polish, has mentioned that she prefers a slightly thicker formula so that was to be expected. I might add some thinner, I might not since the thicker formula didn't affect the final look in any way. Overall, I think this was a really nice introduction to the brand. I did order a few other shades which I hope to swatch for you soon. You can find Tonic Polish on
Happy polishing,
Michelle
