Hello readers,
Today I have the cirque Vice 2017 collection to share with you. Nail Polish Canada just got these shades in stock and were kind enough to send me them to review. This collection features six limited edition cremes along with a holo topper. Let's take a look at these perfect for summer shades.
Fame
Fame is a light creme that switches between a light teal to robin's egg blue depending on lighting. The formula was very easy to work with and took two coats to become opaque. It dries to a satin finish, so top coat is a must if shine is your thing. Photos show two coats of Fame with one coat of Girly Bits Cosmetics What A Rush top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Extra
Extra is a neon tangerine orange crelly. The formula was excellent. Neons are notoriously finicky but this took just two coats (without any white undies!) to become opaque. I did find going for slightly thicker coats than I normally aim for helped get a nice even streak free finish. The camera is also not playing tricks, it really is this bright. This polish dries down matte, count on using top coat for most of this collection. Kushy
We continue our journey through the highlighter rainbow with Kushy, a neon lime green creme. This is shade is ridiculously bright and, like Extra, had an excellent formula. Two slightly thicker than normal coats and no white undies required for an even matte finish. Socialite
Socialite is a medium pink ... or maybe it's purple. I really can't decide. In the bottle I think it looks purple. On my nails I think it looks pink. You be the judge. Either way it has the same great formula as Extra and Kushy. Two coats to purpink perfection. Game Over
Game Over is a super bright neon red jelly. This shade also made my camera go NOOOOOPE! Because of this I did end up having to edit the color a little bit in these swatch photos to make it truer to life. My camera wanted to make this polish lean much more orange than it actually is, except for in the bottle shot which ended up being pretty accurate (and is unedited). The formula on this one was a bit thinner than the other neons in the collection so when I aimed for my slightly thicker coat I ended up flooding my cuticles. Just two regular thin coats here for full coverage. Do note that the polish itself dries a teeny bit darker than it looks in the bottle. One-Night Stand
One-Night Stand is a medium blurple creme. The formula on this one felt a bit tacky when applying it, though I didn't have any issues with dragging or self-leveling. Two coats were needed for full coverage. It does dry to a matte finish and a tad darker than the colour in the bottle. We Trippy
We Trippy is a flecked scatter holo topper and the only non-LE shade in this collection. The formula was easy to work with. I didn't struggle with any streaks or patchy application. It does grey out the colour underneath a little bit, but that's to be expected since holo pigment is, well, grey. This does dry shiny on its own, so I didn't add extra top coat on top. Photos show one coat of We Trippy over One-Night Stand in daylight spectrum lighting.
Conclusion
Overall I am really impressed with this collection, particularly the neons. Extra, Kushy and Game Over are ridiculously bright but have great formulas and don't need to be applied over white. That right there is a rare combination. My personal favorite shades are Fame, Kushy and Game Over. If you're in Canada or the US you can order these from Nail Polish Canada. You can find NPC on
