Hello readers,
Today I have another eyeshadow challenge to share with you; seven looks with the Lise Watier Eden Tropical palette.
The Eden Tropical palette features six shimmery shades in a mix of neutrals and brighter colours. While I do love shimmer, I find that I miss having the occasional matte, especially for my crease since I have hooded lids. I've let myself cheat a little in this challenge by adding three matte shades from Notoriously Morbid Cosmetics to the mix. The goal is to use these sparingly to accent the Lise Water shadows.
Also, since this palette didn't have individual shade names I've given them nicknames to reference in the EOTD shadow maps.
EOTD #1
For this look I went for mostly neutrals with a pop of colour in the outer V. Forgive the not so great pictures. I was coming down with a really bad cold when I took these after work and all I wanted to do was crawl into bed. The Turquoise shade was also quite sheer and I ended up having to foil it to get any sort of coverage.

EOTD #2
I was going for a strong green look here but just couldn't get the depth that I wanted, so I kept adding more colours. I can't decide if I like this one. I still feel like it falls flat.

EOTD #3
I decided to switch things up a little and try a beige and Fuchsia halo eye. This was the first time I tried out the Fuchsia shadow and it was so disappointing. I could barely get any colour when trying it dry. A wet brush helped but it was still rather sheer. I ended up applying it with Lise Watier Metamorphix foiling drops, but even then it was really hard to get the colour to show up at all. I'm happy with the final look, but man it took so much longer to do than I was expecting.

EOTD #4
A quick four shadow look this time. I tried switching things up a little by using pink as a transition shade and neutrals on the lid. I'm not loving this look. The brown shadow just did not want to blend nicely.

EOTD #5
I liked the pink and beige halo eye I did in EOTD #3 so I decided to try the same thing but brighter! Bonus - I finally found a brush that picks up the turquoise shadow in a somewhat pigmented way. I could have probably blended the lid shades into the crease transition shade a bit better, but time was tickin' and I had to get to work.

EOTD #6
My favorite look so far. I was running out of ideas with the available colour palette when I realized that I could mix shades to make new options. Fuchsia + Turquoise = Steely Lavender.

I really like EOTD #6 so I basically repeated it with beige and fuchsia as the main lid shades.

Conclusion
This palette challenge was truly a challenge. The only shade that I found easy to use was the beige. The bright shades like the turquoise and fuchsia took a lot of trial and error. Even once I found a brush that worked well, it took lots of layering and building up to get any colour payoff. I also found that I really couldn't put together a complete look without some additional matte shades. Though I tried using the brown as a crease colour a couple times, it just did not seem to blend nicely and the result was patchy at best. Unfortunately this palette gets a thumbs down from me. Given all that, my personal favorite look was EOTD #6. I really like the gradient between steely lavender and blue. You can find Lise Watier on
