Hello readers,
Today I have Emily De Molly's October 2017 release to share with you. This eight shade collection has a little bit of everything in terms of colours and finish, so let's get straight to swatches.
End Of Seasons
End Of Seasons features a deep red to orange shifting multichrome base with lots of small gold holo glitters. In shaded lighting a purple flash also makes an appearance. For the life of me I couldn't get this to show in my swatch photos, but you can see it at the edge of the bottle in the picture below. The formula was easy to work with taking two coats for full coverage. This dries relatively smoothly. There is the occasional divot due to a glitter, but it doesn't feel gritty or rough so one coat of top coat is enough to smooth things out. The Counting Order
The Counting Order features a light blue base with a super strong green to pink shifting shimmer along with small holo silver glitters and blue flakies. The effect is shimmer and metallic all at the same time. The formula was easy to work with taking two coats for full coverage. In bright lighting the green shimmer takes over, but in shaded lighting the blue tones of the base and the pink shimmer come out to play. Pretty Persona
Pretty Persona is a pale pink with a lime green shimmer, small fuchsia and silver glitters and a sprinkling of iridescent flakes. The formula was a bit sheer, taking three coats for full coverage. This shade dries to an almost matte finish, and the flakes and glitters do add a little texture, so top coat is definitely recommended. Stylish Cover Up
Stylish Cover Up is a deep plum purple (cold) to berry (warm) thermal with a strong warm gold shimmer. It looks much more blue in the bottle than it does on the nail. The formula was very easy to work with and took two coats for full coverage. This shade dries to a smooth matte finish, so if you prefer shiny you'll want to add a glossy top coat. Land Of Critique
Land Of Critique is a lavender holo with a pink shimmer, orange to green shifting iridescent glitters, and tiny silver holo glitters. The formula was very easy to work with and took two coats to become opaque. This dried pretty shiny on its own, but I added top coat for a perfectly smooth finish. The Plain Wall
The Plain Wall is a pale taupe crelly with a teal shimmer and a sprinkling of silver flakes. The formula was relatively easy to work with, especially for a pale colour. I found that using slightly thicker than normal coats and letting them self level was helpful in achieving an even finish. Using slightly thicker coats, two are needed for full coverage. Chase The Charmed
Chase The Charmed is a rose gold holo with lots of orange to green shifting iridescent flakes. The formula was relatively easy to work with other than the odd flake that would end up hanging off my nail's free edge and would need nudging back into place. This shades dries to a satin finish and there is a little bit of unevenness due to the flakes. One coat of a thicker top coat is enough to smooth everything out. Ever Sort After
Ever Sort After features a deep purple jelly base filled with a green to purple shifting shimmer and small silver flakes (which end up looking violet through the purple base). The formula was very easy to work with and though the first coat is a bit sheer, it layers up nicely becoming opaque in two coats. Conclusion
So much good stuff to pick from! My personal favorites are The Counting Order and The Plain Wall. I love interesting neutrals, and I also love turquoise. This collection releases Friday October 20th at 10am AEDT on the Australian site and Thursday October 19th at 7pm EDT on the US and international site. You can find Emily De Molly on
