Hello readers,
Today I have another Morgan Taylor polish to show you. If you remember from my review of Morgan Taylor Truth Or Dare, I wasn't too enamored with the formula. This is the second polish from this brand that I've tried and the formula on this one was a lot nicer.
Under the stars is a dark blue jelly base packed with two sizes of iridescent silver hex glitter. It took two coats to become opaque but I added a third coat to get some extra sparkle. It did dry slightly unevenly due to all the glitter but one coat of a thicker top coat will easily smooth it out. Photos show three coats of Under the Stars with one coat of Seche Vite in natural lighting.
This is one of those polishes that was impossible to capture in a picture. The base looks so squishy and deep, and the sparkle perfectly represents a clear night sky. I absolutely love this polish and I know my photos don't do it justice. The only place I've seen this brand for sale is on amazon.com, so if you like it take a look there. I am definitely going to have to try more Morgan Taylor polishes after my experience with this one.
Happy polishing,
- Michelle

The Lacquer Legion February Challenge: Adoration
Hello readers,
It's that time of the month again... that is, it's time for another Lacquer Legion inspired mani! This month's theme was 'adoration'. To me, this meant something that you just can't take your eyes off of. Something that fills you with happy feelings and gives you a sense of awe. The thing that fit this idea perfectly for me was fireworks. I love these displays of glitter in the sky.
For my mani I used Morgan Taylor Under the stars as the background. Then I used my Nubar silver striper to make the whisps of the fireworks. I dotted A-England Encore Margot and Nubar Treasure to add more 'arms' to the fireworks. Finally I layered some Emerald & Ash Moonlit Snow and China Glaze Glistening snow in the center of firework to add some extra shimmer and sparkle. This was the final result.
If you want to join in the fun follow The Lacquer Legion on facebook to find out what next month's theme will be.
Happy polishing!

Morgan Taylor Truth Or Dare Swatches & Review
Hello readers! Today I have a polish from a new (to me) brand, Morgan Taylor. I came across this brand when browsing amazon. There were a few shades that caught my eye so I added them to my wishlist on a whim. This is the first shade that I received in person, Truth Or Dare.
Truth Or Dare is a dark vampy shimmery purple. Totally up my alley. It does look a little more shimmery in the bottle than it does on the nails, but the shimmer still makes it through. The formula was... average. Not fantastic, not horrible. It was streaky for the first two coats but finally evened out on the third. Photos show three coats of Truth Or Dare with one coat of Seche Vite in natural lighting.
Do I like the colour? Yes. Do I love the formula? Not really. I feel like I could get a comparable polish from Zoya who's formulas I love and trust. Will I try another polish from this brand? Probably. Every brand has a polish with a not so great formula. I don't want to write off potentially fabulous polishes because of one bad egg. On another note though, I really love the bottle shape of this one. The flared brush handle made it very easy to hold on to. Are you willing to look past a mediocre formula if it's a colour you love?
