A Little Bit Of Everything Nail Art

Born Pretty Store BP-L014

Hello readers,
I didn't really have much of a plan going into this nail art look. I gathered some polishes with a cohesive mix of colours and it turned into a mix of glitter crelly, metallic and stamped gradient.

My Top 10 Polishes of 2015

Hello readers,
As the year draws to an end, I looked back through all the polishes I tried this year and after much deliberation picked my top 10 to share with you.  You can tell that I was drawn to blues, teals and purples throughout the year.  Here they are in no particular order.

Born Pretty Store BP27 Stamping Plate Review & Discount Code

Hello readers,
Today I have another stamping plate from Born Pretty Store to show you.

The BP27 plate features two full nail designs along with six smaller stamps.  I tried out the leafy full nail design for this manicure.  I used it along with my rectangular squishy stamper so I could do my best at aligning the design vertically along my nails.

WingDust Collections Bombshell! Swatches & Review

Hello readers,
I finally got around to trying a polish I won from WingDust Collections a few months back for entering a #wingdustwednesday contest.

Bombshell! features a clear based filled with hot pink, peach, silver and black glitters in various shapes and sizes along with a hint of iridescent blue shimmer. I used it as a glitter topper over Cirque Midsummer Night (a cobalt blue jelly with red shimmer). The formula was great and very easy to work with. I didn't have to do any dabbing to get the glitter evenly distributed across the nail. The edges of the stars and largest hexes stuck up a little for me, but that's just because of my very curvy nail beds. A single coat of top coat was more than enough to smooth everything out. Photos show one coat of Bombshell! over Cirque Midsummer Night in daylight spectrum lighting.

Floral Stamping Nail Art

Hello readers,
Today I have some nail stamping to show you.  I used WingDust Collections Steel Town Girl as my based and then stamped it using Pueen Plate 72 and Konad Special Polish in white.  I topped everything of with a single coat of CND Super Shiney top coat.  Photos were taken in daylight spectrum lighting.

Happy polishing,

WingDust Collections Steel Town Girl Swatches & Review

Hello readers,
Today I have the polish that first got me addicted to WingDust Collections to show you.  This is the polish that introduced me to gold leaf flake.

Steel Town Girl features a navy based packed with soft holo shimmer, metallic blue shards and real gold leaf flakes.  The formula was easy to work with and took three coats to become opaque.  Normally I despise shards because I find they don't lay flat, but I didn't have that problem with the ones in this polish.  There was only one that poked up after brushing it on, and it was a easy poke with the brush to get it to lay flat.  Photos show three coats of Steel Town Girl with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

WingDust Collections Muskoka Sunset Swatches & Review

Hello readers,
It's time for another WingDust Wednesday! Today I have one of the polishes I got during WingDust's most recent sale to show you.

WingDust Collections WingDust Collections

Muskoka Sunset features a bright purple jelly base packed with orange, purple, lavender and pink glitters is a variety of shapes and sizes. As you can guess, this polish was inspired the the hues of a beautiful Muskoka sunset. The polish was quite easy to work with despite how much glitter is in it. The only time I had to do any dabbing was when I couple glitters would sit on top of each other in the same coat. This was just to keep the polish as smooth at possible. If you have curved nail beds like me then you will likely need more than one coat of top coat to smooth out the largest glitters. If you have flat nail beds a single coat of a thicker top coat should do the trick. Photos show two coats of Muskoka Sunset with one coat of HK Girl top coat and then one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

WingDust Collections When Oceans Rise Swatches & Review

Hello readers,
Time for another WingDust Wednesday! Today I have When Oceans Rise to show you. Funny story, when I originally purchased this I didn't even realize it was a thermal polish. I just saw gold leaf flakies and it was automatically added to my cart.

WingDust Collections WingDust Collections

When Oceans Rise features a shimmery light teal base with a sprinkling of small aqua glitters and lots of gold leaf flakies. It has also has a soft scatter holo in sunlight. The formula was great and I didn't have any issues with application. It took me three coats to get an opaque finish. This polish dries with a very slight grittiness so I suggest a generous coat of top coat to get a nice glossy finish. Swatch photos show three coats of When Oceans Rise in its warm state in daylight spectrum lighting. The polish's cold state is just a couple shades darker and is shown in the bottle and macro shots.
