Blue and Green Polka Dot Nail Art

Picture Polish Honey Moon

Hello readers,
Today I have some easy nail art to share with you.  I applied a generous coat of Picture Polish White Wedding and while it was still wet dripped drops of Honey Moon and Forget Me Not onto the white base.  After repeating this on the rest of my nails, I lay my hands flat so the dots could spread out and self-level.  Once everything was smooth I sealed the design with a coat of Girly Bits Glitter Glaze.  Photos were taken in daylight spectrum lighting.

My Top 10 Polishes of 2015

Hello readers,
As the year draws to an end, I looked back through all the polishes I tried this year and after much deliberation picked my top 10 to share with you.  You can tell that I was drawn to blues, teals and purples throughout the year.  Here they are in no particular order.

Picture Polish Calm Swatches & Review

Hello readers,
Today I have one of the more recent Picture Polish collaboration shades to share with you.  I'm addicted to their flecked holo finish and this one is a blue leaning teal, so there was no question of my not owning it.

Blue and Metallic Nude Abstract Swirls Stamped Nail Art

Hello readers,
I have a quick nail art post for you guys today.  I was ready to switch things up but my Picture Polish Big Bang mani hadn't chipped yet.  I gave it a new look by stamping a flowy abstract design on top using Picture Polish Metallic Mush, a metallic nude, and Born Pretty Store plate BP 10.  I sealed everything up with a coat of CND Super Shiney top coat.  Here's the final look in daylight spectrum lighting.

Picture Polish Enchanting Swatches & Review

Hello readers,
The most recent blogger collaboration shades from Picture Polish featured three gorgeous teals and greens that I knew I needed to have.  Today I have one of them, Enchanting, to show you.

Picture Polish Enchanting Swatch Picture Polish Enchanting

Enchanting is a bright jelly polish on the border between green and teal featuring a flecked subtle scatter holo finish.  The formula was excellent and it only took two coats to become opaque.  It also dried completely smooth so top coat is only needed to make it last longer.  Photos show two coats of Enchanting with one coat of Nubar Diamond top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.  Please note that this polish does lean slightly greener in real life.

I can't get enough of these flecked holo finishes and Picture Polish continues to impress.  I also have Dragonfly and Escapades on their way to me now and I can't wait to try them out.  What do you think of this shade? Is the flecked holo finish a favorite or do you prefer a stronger linear holo?

Happy polishing,

Michelle

Picture Polish Lagoon Swatches & Review

Hello readers,
I hope you are all looking forward to the upcoming Labour Day long weekend. I know I am. Today I have a polish that's been sitting in my collection for a while that I somehow haven't tried yet, Picture Polish Lagoon.

Picture Polish Lagoon features a rich teal jelly filled with scatter holo sparkle and a sprinkling of small teal hex glitters. The formula on this one was amazing. I used three coats but you could definitely get away with two, The glitters lay completely flat and smooth and I had no issues with streaks or bald spots. Photos show three coats of Lagoon with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in natural lighting.

Happy polishing,

Michelle

Picture Polish Ocean Swatches & Review

Hello readers!

I was a bit quiet (and by a bit quiet I mean completely silent) last week because I was busy escaping the cold and enjoying a wonderful lazy beach vacation in the Dominican Republic.  I'm back to the cold now but want to reminisce by showing you the polish I chose to wear for my trip.  Seeing as how it was a beach vacation Picture Polish Ocean seemed like the perfect choice.  This polish features a bright blue jelly base packed with loads of blue holographic micro glitter.  The formula was fantastic and easy to apply.  Pictures show three coats of Ocean with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in natural lighting in front of the ocean itself.

Bonus starfish!

I was really impressed with the wear time of the polish... like really impressed.  The photos above were taken on the third day of my trip.  Other than some minor tip wear which I touched up a few times through out the week I didn't get any major chips until the very last day.  Considering my nails with busy picking at sea shells, getting soaked in saltwater and chlorinated water daily on top of normal use this is amazing.  This quality is totally worth the higher price tag.  Now that I'm home though, it's time to switch up my polish since this is the first time in a very long time that I've worn the same colour for a whole week.

Happy polishing!

Picture Polish Paradise Swatches & Review

Oh no! I managed to break my pointer finger nail down to a nub!  I don't even know how I did it.  I was sitting on the couch watching TV and all of a sudden... broken nail.  Oh well.  The show must go on a.k.a. you know I'm still going to keep showing you swatches!

Since I loved Picture Polish Hope so much I decided to show you the only other Picture Polish I own, Paradise.  This polish is an incredibly shimmery medium greyish blue packed with purple micro glitter and small pink hexes.  It also has a smattering of holographic sparkle that shows up in direct sunlight.

The formula was easy to work with and it takes 2-3 coats to become opaque.  It dries to a satin finish so I added a glossy top coat for some extra shine.  This polish looks shimmery in all situations but when you get it outside in the sun in amazing reflective.

Photos show two coats of Paradise on all fingers except for my ring finger which has three coats.  All fingers have one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat.  The bottom right picture was taken in the shade, the rest were taken in direct natural sunlight.  I really like this polish.  I mean, let's be serious.  It's blue and has a great formula.  It's very hard for me to find a blue polish I don't like, haha.  Hopefully my pointer finger nub will grow out quickly so it doesn't look quite so silly next to all the others.

Spots And Stripes Oh My!

Hello everyone.  Today's post is going to be short and sweet.  My Picture Polish Hope manicure from the weekend was still going strong today so I decided to add some spots and stripes to change things up.  I chose Ruby White Tips The Polish With No Name and Mermaid Dreams for the main accents and then added a little shimmer with B.B.Kiddo.

Ahhhh....so much teal and blue.  I love a good monochrome design.  This just looks so flowy and relaxed.  Reminds me of some calm deep dark water.  How did you transform your manicure today?

Picture Polish Hope Swatches & Review

Today I have an absolutely amazing polish to show you.  I know, I know... I say I love pretty much every polish I show you but seriously, this one is extra amazing.  Picture Polish Hope is a deep blue jelly with teal micro glitter, holographic micro glitter and handful of small blue hexes.

This formula was flawless and reaches opacity in two coats.  Despite containing lots of glitter it dried to a glassy sheen.  I only added a thin top coat to avoid chipping.  I didn't actually realize that there was some holographic glitter in this polish until I went outside to take the swatch pictures.  In indoor lighting or shade it's the teal microglitter that shows most.

I just can't stop staring at my nails because this polish is so pretty.  Pictures show two coats of Picture Polish Hope with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat.  The one on the bottom left shows the polish in shade where the teal microglitter stands out.  The rest are in direct sunlight where you can see the holographic microglitter come to life.  Picture Polishes are a bit pricey but this one is worth every penny.  The colour and glitter combinations are perfect and it has one of the best formulas for a glitter polish that I have ever tried.  think I'm going to have to try some more polishes from this brand in the future.  What's expensive polish do you have that you think is worth the price?
