Hello readers,
Today I have Hello Waffle Cosmetics' February Visage box to share with you. This month's shades were inspired by the Ernest & Celestine book series by Gabrielle Vincent. It was also turned into an animated film in 2012. Let's take a look at swatches.
Hello Waffle Cosmetics Big Bad Bear Eyeshadow
Big Bad Bear features a matte grey base with strong blue undertones and a light sprinkling of silver sparks. The formula was easy to work with and quite pigmented.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics A Proper Artist's Studio Eyeshadow
A Proper Artist's Studio features a yellow-leaning cream base with pink and gold sparks. Overall it has a soft satin finish.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics Little Mouse Fairy Eyeshadow
Little Mouse Fairy features a medium warm pink base with pink and copper sparks. Despite the sparks this comes off quite matte when applied which I really like. Best of both worlds.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics Winter's Song Fairydust Overshadow
Winter's Song features a very shimmery ivory base (almost white gold) with green and pink glitter flecks. It looks quite yellow in the jar, but this doesn't translate to the swatch at all. You'll definitely want to use a good primer with this one to keep all the sparkles glued down.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics To Stay Forever Blush
Stay Forever is medium shimmery peach blush. It looks somewhat daunting in the jar but applies with a softer finish. On darker skin tones this would probably make a nice highlighter.

Shiro Cosmetics The Sweet Sop Lip Gloss
The Sweet Shop features an almost clear pink tinted base and iridescent pink sparks. It smells exactly like the name, super sweet and sugary.

Geekpothecary Marshmallow Thief Lip Butter
This month's guest indie was The Geekpothecary. They contributed Marshmallow Thief, a vegan lip butter that has a soft sweet marshmallow scent. This winter has been harsh on my lips so I'm really happy to see a staple skincare item like this in this month's box.
Final Thoughts
My personal favorites this month are the Little Mouse Fairy eyeshadow and Marshmallow Thief Lip Butter. Overall I'm really happy to see more matte and almost matte shadows making into the Visage mix as they usually tend to lean quite shimmery. You can find Hello Waffle Cosmetics on
Wow! I've been thinking about signing up, so glad someone showed me your blog. You write up is amazing! I have a couple questions though before I pull the trigger: Is it possible to skip months? Is the theme announced ahead of time?
ReplyDeleteThanks Lattisha! You can't skip months. Sometimes there are hints about upcoming themes and sometimes it's a surprise. Hope that helps!
