Girly Bits IEC 2018

Hello readers,
Today I have the Limited Edition polishes Girly Bits Cosmetics is bring to Indie Expo Canada to share with you. These shades capture some Canadian themes to celebrate the indie scene up north. Let's take a look at swatches.

North of 42

Girly Bits North of 42Girly Bits North of 42

North Of 42 was named after the home town of Girly Bits. Kingsville is the Southernmost town in all of mainland Canada and sits on the 42nd parallel, 42.0363° N to be exact. This shade features a green leaning teal holo base with a subtle shift to violet, holo sparkle and small green to blue shifting iridescent flakes. The formula seems a bit sheer on the first coat, but not to worry, it layers up nicely to full coverage on the second. I do recommend top coat to really bring this shimmer and flakies together to a perfect smooth finish. Photos show two coats of North Of 42 with one coat of Girly Bits Cosmetics Glitter Glaze top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

The FoMo Is Real

Girly Bits The FoMo Is RealGirly Bits The FoMo Is Real

The FoMo Is Real was inspired by the stunning sunsets we can get over the Toronto skyline. Check out the background of the IEC website for a great example. This shade features a bright pink (cold) to orange (warm) thermal base with lots of iridescent flakies and a sprinkling of silver holo flecks. The formula was easy to work with and took three coats for full coverage on me. However, it was so close after two that those with shorter nails or a less distinct nail line could like get away with two. This dries to a matter finish with the occasional flakie divot so I do recommend adding top coat. Zed

Girly Bits ZedGirly Bits Zed

Zed was inspired by how we pronounce Z here in Canada. We do make a concession for the alphabet song though, and go with zee for rhyming purposes. Zed features a metallic purple to copper to green shifting multichrome base with gold to green shifting metallic flakes and a sprinkling of small silver holo flecks. The formula was easy to work with taking two coats for full coverage. Photos show two coats of Zed with one coat of Girly Bits Glitter Glaze top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Conclusion

These three shades will available for purchase at Indie Expo Canada on June 10th for $15.50CAD each. Zed and North Of 42 will be available after the event on the Girly Bits website for $16.50CAD. Unfortunately thermals and our hot Ontario summers do not get along when it comes to shipping so it's undecided if The FoMo Is Real will make a reappearance. If you can't make it to IEC and it needs to be yours, make sure to let the Girly Bits team know and maybe it will make a fall comeback. You can find Girly Bits Cosmetics on

Happy polishing,

Michelle
