Hello readers,
Today I have Emily De Molly's May 2018 release to share with you. This collection has everything from shimmers to magnetics to glitter crellies. Let's take a look at swatches.
Causing Friction
Causing Friction features a maroon crelly base with a gold flecked shimmer, orange to green shifting iridescent flakes and fuchsia glitter. The formula was ok. I did have to nudge the occasional flake around on the first coat. The second was easy to apply. This does dry to a matte finish with some texture so top coat is a must. Photos show two coats of Causing Friction with two coats of Lucky 13 Lacquer Elemental Ward top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Reflected Glory
Reflected Glory is a rose gold holo with a metallic copper shimmer. The formula was very easy to work with and took two coats for full coverage. The combination of holo and metallic makes the finish very shiny. Photos show two coats of Reflected Glory with one coat of Lucky 13 Lacquer Elemental Ward top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Mundane Tasks
Mundane Tasks features a medium blue crelly base with small fuchsia and green glitters and a sprinkling of green flecked shimmer. The formula was easy to work with taking two coats for full coverage. This dries down matte with a little bit of texture so top coat is strongly recommended. Travels By Day
Travels By Day features a blackened blue jelly base with small blue flecks and a magnetic purple to blue to green shifting shimmer. The formula was very easy to work with. I applied the first coat with no magnet, and then used a bar magnet on the second coat. This shade dries to a satin finish and a glossy top coat really helps bring out the shifty shimmer. Lost In Translation
Lost In Translation is a brown (cold) to pink (warm) thermal with a strong copper shimmer and small silver glitters. The formula was easy to work with taking two coats for full coverage. This shade dries to a matte finish with a little bit of texture so top coat is recommended. Larger Than Life
Larger Than Life is a foiled chartreuse green with a golden shimmer and tiny silver holographic glitters. The formula was easy to work with taking two coats for full coverage. This dries quite shiny on it's own but I added top coat out of habit. Winter's Gate
Winter's Gate features a pale greyed lilac base filled with tiny flecks that shift from gold to green to blue. The formula was relatively easy to work with though I found floating my brush slightly on the last coat helped give the most even coverage. Photos show three coats of Winter's Gate with one coat of Lucky 13 Lacquer Elemental Ward top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
The Longest Night
The Longest Night features a deep teal base with a fine green-gold shimmer and lots of tiny silver holo glitters. The formula was easy to work with and quite pigmented taking two coats for full coverage. This dries quite shiny on its own but I added top coat out of habit. Photos show two coats of The Longest Night with one coat of Lucky 13 Lacquer Elemental Ward top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
