Brand Challenge: Bee's Knees Lacquer

Hello readers,
I picked up a few new BKL shades at Indie Expo Canada this year. I went in with one on my list, and somehow walked away with four. Let's take a look at swatches.

Abjuration

Abjuration features a vibrant blurple jelly base filled with a glowing red to green shifting shimmer. The formula was very easy to work with and took three coats for 90% coverage. In bright light my nail lines show through a little, in shaded light the shimmer takes over and it looks opaque. Photos show three coats of Abjuration with one coat of Glisten & Glow H.K. Eve

Eve is a saturated matte cobalt blue filled with a turquoise flecked shimmer. The formula was easy to work with and took three coats for full coverage. However, it was so close after two that two may be enough for those with shorter nails or a less distinct nail line than me. Photos show three coats of Eve in daylight spectrum lighting.

The Sea Whip

The Sea Whip features a sheer pale blue jelly base with a glowing red to green shifting shimmer. I used three coats here but it was still fairly sheer afterwards. In the future I'd probably layer this over an opaque cream. Photos show three coats of The Sea Whip with one coat of Glisten & Glow H.K. Girl top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Undertow

Undertow features a muted grey-green crelly base with a strong green shimmer. The formula was excellent and took three coats for full coverage. Two will probably be enough for those with shorter nails or a less distinct nail line than me. Photos show three coats of Undertow with one coat of Glisten & Glow H.K. Girl top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Final Thoughts

There we go. I'm officially back to zero untried Bee's Knees shades in my collection. My personal favorites from this bunch were Eve and The Sea Whip. You can find Bee's Knees Lacquer on
