Today I have Televator from the Kat Von D Everlasting Glimmer Veil Liquid Lipstick line to share with you. I completely impulse bought this during the last Sephora Rouge sale when the deep blurple sparkly colour caught my eye. Let's take a look at swatches.
Televator is a vivid sparkly grape purple. When I swatched this on my wrist in store it seemed super pigmented and full coverage in a single swipe. However, when I tried to apply it to my lips after purchasing it, the formula didn't seem quite as easy to work with. I found it quite patchy in a single coat and ended up having to try and even things out with a second. I was semi-successful. There were still some sheer spots, but it wasn't too obvious unless you looked really closely.
Now for wear. I really like the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick line. I find it lasts really well on my lips without being overly drying. Since this also had the words everlasting and liquid lipstick in the name I was expecting a similar formula but with some serious sparkle. That is not what I got. This lipstick dissolves with water. On top of that, this base colour stains your lips (and any other skin it touches) a deep berry colour really fast. I would be totally ok with that if I wasn't afraid of this dissolving outside my lip line when I take a sip of water and staining so that I couldn't clean it up easily. I honestly can't see myself wearing this anywhere I anticipate drinking or eating for fear of ending up with a 'five year old who got their hands on mommy's lipstick' look.
Overall, I'm disappointed. The colour is so pretty but the formula is so disappointing. I've read reviews where people had better luck using the Glimmer Veils layered over other base shades. Maybe I'll give that a try some day. Right now I don't see myself reaching for this lipstick very often since the whole dissolves with water aspect significantly limits the situations in which I would be comfortable wearing it.

This is sad! I am not a huge liquid lipstick lover (even though I have about 50 of them), but if I have to wear one, KVD is my go to formula. This had a lot of promise but it looks patchy and the wear you describe is scary. It is too bad because it's so pretty!
