Hello readers,
Today I have the first half of Zoya's 12 shade Wanderlust collection for summer 2017. This collection features a mix of cremes and shimmers. It ranges from bright pinks to muted greens so there's definitely lots to choose from. Let's take a look at the first six shades.
River
River is a bright cobalt blue flecked foil. The formula was quite sheer and it took me three coats to cover up my nail lines completely. I also got a lot of bubbling as this polish dried which was really obvious due to the foiled finish. I wanted to love this colour, but I think there are some similar shades out there that are easier to work with. Byrdie
Byrdie is described as a rich bubblegum pink creme. The formula on this one was fantastic taking two easy coats to become opaque. It has a nice squisy finish that I love. This does dry shiny on its own but I added top coat out of habit. Photos show two coats of Byrdie with one coat of Zoya Armor top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Lois
Lois is a medium violet creme. The formula on this one was excellent and even more pigmented than Byrdie. I used two coats here, but it you keep an eye out for sheer spots, you could definitely make this one a one-coater. This shade dries nice and shiny on its own if you want to skip the top coat. Esty
Esty is a medium rose creme. The formula on this one was very pigmented but felt a bit thick and tacky. While still relatively to apply it was difficult to get thin even coats. I also found that this one took way longer than normal to dry; possibly due to those not optional thicker coats. Mandy
Mandy is a shimmery almost metallic strawberry red with a violet sheen. The formula was a bit sheer, requiring three coats to become opaque, but quite easy to work with. Photos show three coats of Mandy with one coat of Zoya Armor top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Winnie
Winnie a bright watermelon pink creme. This had the same pigmented but tacky formula as Esty. Thicker coats were required to get an even finish. This one also does not get along with my skin tone resulting in some lobster hands making an appearance. Conclusion
First thing that jumps out at me - this collection is pretty heavy on the pinks. If you're a pink polish person then this may be a positive. For me, it's not my favorite. My personal picks from the first half of the Wanderlust collection are Lois and Byrdie. You can find Zoya on
