Hello readers,
Today I have the exclusive, limited edition and VIP bag shades Girly Bits will be bringing to Indie Expo Canada this weekend to share with you. I'll be there on Sunday covering the event and of course buying some goodies for myself. Let's take a look a some of the polishes you'll be able to snag.
The Red Rocket
The Red Rocket is the exclusive shade for IEC and was inspired by the red streetcars you see all over Toronto. In bright light this polish is a rich metallic red. In shaded light there's a shimmery shift to orange and sometimes hints of pink. The formula was easy to work with and took two coats to become opaque. It dries shiny on its own but I added top coat anyways. Photos show two coats of The Red Rocket with one coat of CND Super Shiney topcoat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Lost In The PATH
For those not familiar with Toronto, the PATH is a network of underground walkways that connect areas of the downtown core. It's great for avoiding cold winter weather and it's also great for getting yourself completely lost. Lost In The PATH is a deep washed out blurple with a strong gold shimmer and silver holo flakes. The formula was excellent and quite pigmented. It took two coats to become opaque and despite all those little flakes it dried quite smoothly. This is one of the limited edition shades which will be available at the event and on the Girly Bits website afterwards. Sugar Beach
Sugar Beach is a little relaxation spot right downtown on the edge of Lake Ontario. This polish features a shimmery silver scatter holo base filled with tiny holo silver glitters, a rainbow of small metallic flakies and a strong pink shimmer. The formula was easy to work with and took three coats to become opaque. It dries to a satin finish so I recommend pairing it with a glossy top coat. This is the second limited edition shade that will be available both at the event and on the Girly Bits website afterwards. V.I.Polish IEC Toronto 2017
V.I.Polish IEC Toronto 2017 is a medium denim blue filled with blue and silver flakes along with a scatter holo shimmer. This shade is exclusively available in the VIP goodie bags for IEC VIP ticket holders. The formula was easy to work with and took two coats to become opaque. I found putting minimal pressure on the brush and just gliding it up the nail worked best to avoid moving the flakies already laid down in your previous coat. Conclusion
There are lots of finishes and colours in the mix so hopefully there is something for everyone. My personal favorite is Lost In The PATH, but Sugar Beach was a close second. Check out the IEC website for all expo details. Saturday is filled with talks and workshops. Sunday is the time to shop lots of amazing brands and attend a tutorial or two.
