Hello Waffle Cosmetics Visage September 2016 Swatches & Review

Hello Waffle Cosmetics Visage review

Hello readers,
Today I have Hello Waffle Cosmetics' September Visage to share with you. This month's inspiration was the classic tale of Robin Hood. A palette of warm neutrals with pops of green was the theme this month. Let's take a look at what was included.

Hello Waffle Visage

Hello Waffle Cosmetics From The Rich To The Poor Eyeshadow

From The Rich To The Poor is a pale cream with a really strong green shimmer. Like, so strong that when wearing it I would just call it a pale green eyeshadow. I didn't have any issues with the formula, though I would recommend a primer with this one to really make that shimmer glow.

A Band Of Merry Men features a warm terracotta base with a pronounced green shimmer. Like From The Rich To The Poor this one does best over primer to bring out the green flash.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics A Good Outlaw Eyeshadow

A Good Outlaw is a warm matte terracotta. I first tried this over my usual primer but found that it made the colour muddy and uneven. However, over bare skin I didn't have issues. For me this means this shade will be limited to use above the crease since my eyelids definitely need primer to keep things in place.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics Marion Blush

Marion is a beautiful medium pink with a soft peachy golden sheen. It blends easily and leaves a dewy satin finish. This is my personal favorite item from this month's box.

Howl Cosmetics Will Scarlet Lipstick

Howl Cosmetics

This month's guest indie isn't quite a guest. Howl Cosmetics and Hello Waffle Cosmetics recently announced that Hello Waffle would be taking over production and sales of the Howl lipstick line. So though it has a different name, it's now made in house at the Hello Waffle workshop. Onto the lipstick itself.

Will Scarlet is a deep warm red. Like the other Howl lipstick shade I tried in a previous visage, I find the formula can tug a bit when applying but once on it feels quite comfortable and creamy. This shade was very pigmented take very little product to get opaque colour on your lips. The shade itself surprised me. This isn't a colour I would have picked out for myself in a million years and I was expecting it to look horrendous on me. My instincts were totally wrong. I love it. It screams fall. Through some sort of lipstick magic it looks amazing on me when most warm toned things don't.

Conclusion

My personal favorites this month are the Will Scarlett lipstick and Marion blush. The eyeshadows aren't really my style except for perhaps From The Rich To The Poor as a highlight. You can find Hello Waffle Cosmetics (and soon Howl Cosmetics too) on

Happy polishing,

Michelle
