Zoya Whispers Collection Swatches & Review

Zoya Whispers Collection

Hello readers,
Today I have the Zoya Whispers collection to share with you.  Zoya describes this collection as a muted and tranquil palette of transitional nail neutrals.  My initial thought upon seeing the shades was that this feels more like an early spring collection rather than one for the beginning of winter.  I'm not quite sure what I'm transitioning to at this point in the year.  However, there are some pretty shades in the bunch so let's take a look at them individually.

April

April is described as a light, rosy toned neutral that is a modern take on blush. The formula was easy to apply though a bit sheer.  I used three coats and in direct light I can still see some slight patchiness.  Photos show three coats of April with one coat of Zoya Armor top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Ireland

Ireland is described as a uniquely wearable green that is muted enough to make it suble yet interesting.  This green is well balanced between blue & yellow so it's flattering on all skin tones.  The formula seemed slightly 'sticky'.  You need to work fast or else it starts to set and doesn't quite self level.  I used three coats to reach opacity.  Initially I hated the colour in the bottle (pea soup green, gross!), but it did grow on me over the couple days I wore the shade.  Photos show three coats of Ireland with one coat of Zoya Armor top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Misty

Misty is described as an easy to wear taupe that is an updated version of gray with just a touch of green to make it daring.  The formula was very easy work with and it only took two coats to become opaque.  Don't be scared by the 'touch of green' mentioned.  It isn't noticeably green at all but a rather nice taupe that works well with my neutral-cool skin tone.  Photos show two coats of Misty with one coat of Zoya Armor top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Cala

Cala is described as a soft nude with a kiss of warmth that will flatter most skin tones.  The formula for this shade was the worst of the collection.  It was quite streaky and patchy and even after three coats I could still see my nail line in bright lighting.  Unfortunately the slight yellow undertones didn't complement my skin tone very well.  Photos show three coats of Cala with one coat of Zoya Armor top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Lake

Lake is described as a softened blue that gives the effect of serene water with just a hint of vibrancy to preserve its luminosity.  This shade had the same great formula as Misty.  It is a bit streaky on the first coat but layers very nicely becoming opaque in just two coats.  I also had no issues with self-leveling with this shade.  Photos show two coats of Lake with one coat of Zoya Armor in daylight spectrum lighting.

Eastyn

Eastyn is described as a subtle grayed grape that is more interesting than mauve and gives a modern alternative that is ever so wearable.  This had the best formula of the bunch.  It was almost a one coater (and probably could be if you have shorter nails or a less distinct nail line).  No issues with dragging or self leveling either.  Photos show two coats of Eastyn with one coat of Zoya Armor in daylight spectrum lighting.

Conclusion

Overall my favorite shades from this collection are Eastyn and Lake.  April and Misty also surprised me as they had good formulas, and though not colours I would usually go for, I can see myself wearing them again.  Cala is the only shade I wouldn't recommend due to the patchy formula.  This collection is available on https://www.zoya.com.  You can also find Zoya on

Happy polishing,

Michelle
