Hello readers,
The re-release of Essie Starry Starry Night as part of the Retro Revival collection has drawn a lot of attention and questions of how the new formulation would compare to the original. I had convinced myself that I could skip the new one and exercised my will power when I saw it at the store, but luck intervened and I won a giveaway for the shade from Procrastinails.
Starry Starry Night (version 2.0) features a deep navy jelly base filled with lots of small silver glitters. The formula was a tad thick but the result was that despite being a jelly it only took two coats to become opaque. I didn't have any issues with self-leveling and the polish dried smoothly. Photos show two coats of Starry Starry Night with one coat of Girly Bits Glitter Glaze in daylight spectrum lighting.
So what do you think of this revamped version? I think it's still really pretty though not a perfect match to the original. You can find Essie on
Happy polishing,
Michelle
