Brand Challenge: Picture Polish

Picture Polish Review

Hello readers,
Today I'm continuing to swatch my way through my Picture Polish collection. Let's take a look at swatches.

Lagoon

Lagoon features an aqua jelly base filled with a flecked scatter holo shimmer and a sprinkling of aqua glitters. The formula was easy to work with though sheer. After three coats my nail lines still show through. Photos show three coats of Lagoon with one coat of Girly Bits Cosmetics What A Rush top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Altered State

Altered State is a duochrome topper with an blue to purple shifting shimmer and tiny silver holo flecks. The formula was easy to work with though I found I needed to coats over a base colour to get good shifty coverage. Photos show two coats of Altered State over Zoya Mallory with one coat of Girly Bits Cosmetics What A Rush top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Gravity

Gravity is a duochrome topper with an aqua to pink shifting shimmer and tiny silver holo flecks. This had a very similar formula to Altered State, requiring two coats over a base colour to get good shifty shimmer payoff. Photos show two coats of Gravity over Zoya Rocky with one coat of Girly Bits Cosmetics What A Rush top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Muse

Muse features a deep purple jelly base filled with tiny silver flecks. The formula was very pigmented. I used two coats here, but I think you could get things done in one if you keep an eye out for sheer spots. 2. Which polish brands do you recommend (your tried and true) for quick-drying, long-wear formulas? I have little kids so time is precious to me. I can’t afford to sit around waiting for polish to dry but really love polish?

    1. Long-wearing is hard to say because it really depends on your personal body chemistry. A brand that seems to last forever on one person may chip instantly on another. My personal go-to's when I want polish to last are Girly Bits Cosmetics, Emily de Molly and Great Lakes Lacquers.

For the quick dry part, I'd recommend picking up a quick dry top coat, which makes pretty much any polish quick drying. Girly Bits Cosmetics What A Rush is the one I reach for most.

      Hope that helps.
