Hello readers,
I'm running a bit behind with my Hello Waffle Visage reviews, so let's just pretend we're still in April for this post. This month's theme was the book Where The Wild Things Are, one that I fondly remember from childhood. Let's see how the inspiration translated into this month's products.
Hello Waffle Cosmetics To Sail To A Wild Land Eyeshadow
To Sail To A Wild Land is a medium matte beige. Very neutral. A little sheer. I can see it being a good shade to blend out your darker crease colours, or to use as a base for other brighter shades. In this swatch I used it over bare skin. Over primer it does apply darker.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics The King Of All Wild Things Eyeshadow
The King Of All Wild Things is a deep bronze with warm ruddy undertones and a beautiful metallic finish. Great formula, easy to apply. Love it.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics Terrible Roars And Terrible Teeth Eyeshadow
Terrible Roars And Terrible Teeth is a deep shimmery pewter with green undertones. Very shiny, easy to apply. Use this one over primer to really make it pop.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics Wild Rumpus Eyeshadow
Wild Rumpus is a deep matte khaki green. The formula on this one is quite sheer and I had to use quite a bit to build it up to the coverage below. It's not a colour I see myself reaching for very often.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics Yellow Eyes Highlighter
Yellow eyes features a very shimmery sheer rose base with a strong golden sheen. If you like shimmer almost sparkly highlighters, this one is for you.

Shiro Cosmetics I'll Eat You Up Lip Gloss
This month's guest indie was Shiro Cosmetics. While I've tried some of their eyeshadows before, I haven't tried their glosses so this is a new product to me. I'll Eat You Up is a greyed out purple with green shimmer. The formula was fairly sheer, and my natural lip colour definitely shows through. The green shimmer is obvious in the tube but gets lost on the lips. While it is a shade I can see myself wearing, this gloss has somewhat of a musty smell. I'm not sure if it's something I can get over.

Shiro Cosmetics I Love You So Lip Gloss
I Love You So is a sheer bright pink with a warm copper shimmer. The formula is comfortable and not overly sticky. You aren't going to get opaque coverage with this, but it brightens up your lips for a soft pretty look. Unlike I'll Eat You Up, this gloss smells delicious and fruity.

Conclusion
My personal favorites this month were The King Of All Wild Things eyeshadow and the Yellow Eyes highlighter. Wild Rumpus was a bit of a let down due to the sheer formula and I'm not quite sure what's going on with the musty smelling half of the Shiro Cosmetics gloss duo.

Mine is the same way. Do you think its still safe to use? Kinda hesitant to use it. Thanks for such a great and detailed review!!😊
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing it's a side effect of the pigments used to get the colour. Some pigments have scents that are harder to cover with added fragrance/flavor than others. If you are really concerned though, I recommend reaching out to Hello Waffle and I'm sure they will touch base with Shiro for you.
