Hello Waffle Cosmetics Visage January 2017 Unboxing & Review

Hello waffle visage January 2017 review

Hello readers,
I'm back on track with my visage reviews, yay! January's box was inspired by the legend of King Arthur and features a mix of finishes and shades. To me, the colours scream spring. Perhaps Christine of Hello Waffle is trying to send mother nature a hint to get this winter weather over with. Let's take a look at this month's goodies.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics Lady Of The Lake Eyeshadow

Hello waffle lady of the lake

Lady Of The Lake is a metallic teal leaning green with a strong golden shimmer. The formula was very pigmented and easy to apply. Make sure to use a primer with this one to really bring out the shine. Without primer the shimmer tends to get more muted with blending.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics Of Equal Status Eyeshadow

Hello waffle of equal status

Of Equal Status is a medium matte taupe. In cooler lighting I found it leaned quite purple, but under daylight spectrum lights it leaned more brown. The formula blends nicely and I think it would make a lovely crease colour.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics Cast In Stone Eyeshadow

Hello waffle cast in stone

Cast In Stone is a sheer ivory with blue flecks and a green shimmer. This shade could be used alone or over another shadow. Even with primer, you can still see my natural skin tone showing through, so if you're on the more adventurous side, you could probably also use this as a highlight with some thorough blending.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics The Holy Grail Lip Colour

Hello waffle the holy grail

Full disclosure: Christine of Hello Waffle has already let subscribers know that this lip colour was from a faulty batch that ended up far creamier than normal. There will be two bonus items to make up for this in February's box. Now, onto the lipstick itself. The Holy Grail is a neutral taupey brown. Not too warm or cool leaning. The shade is very sheer for the reason mentioned above and wears more like a thin gloss than a lipstick or lip balm. You know what? I'm not sure if this shade would have suited me if it were opaque, but mixed with my natural lip colour I don't mind it. It's like a natural neutral lip.

Glamour Doll Eyes Age Of Chivalry Blush

This month's guest indie was Glamour Doll Eyes. GDE was actually the first indie makeup brand I ever bought and makes up a big chunk of my makeup stash. There's always room for more though! Age Of Chivalry is a warm coral blush with a golden shimmer that verges on sparkle. It has medium pigmentation that allows you build it up or blend it out.

Eye Look

Here's a look I put together using this month's eyeshadows. I used Lady Of The Lake over my entire lid and outer lower lash line, Of Equal Status blended in my crease and Cast In Stone in the inner corner and inner lower lash line.

Other products used include Urban Decay Primer Potion, Hello Waffle Glitter Enchantment, Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper, trèStiQue highlighter stick in Maldives Luminescent, Chella highlighter pencil in Ivory Lace, Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil in shade 06 and CoverGirl The Super Sizer mascara.

Conclusion

My favorite items from this month's box are the Cast In Stone and Of Equal Status eyeshadows. You can find Hello Waffle Cosmetics on
