Today I have a brand new indie brand to show you, Finger Lickin' Lacquer. The finger lickin' part comes from the fact that all of the polishes are scented. However, if you're not a scented stuff kind of person you can get unscented versions of all of them too. The polishes shown here today are all from the Family Don't End With Blood collection which is inspired by the TV show Supernatural.
Croatoan
"Croatoan ins a dark green polish with red hexagonal glitter with a dirty, earthy leather scent. The Croatoan virus is Supernatural's take on the zombie craze." I can't help it. Anything red and green automatically makes me think of Christmas but knowing the inspiration behind it I can totally see how these colours represent a zombie-like virus. The formula was great. Easy to work with and went opaque in three coats. The scent in this one was quite subtle. Photos show three coats of Croatoan with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in natural lighting.
Moose
"Moose is a brilliant green scattered holo that smells like earthy woods and trees and nature. "Moose" is the nickname given to Sam Winchester by Crowley, and Same in an earthy sort of guy. He's the salad to Dean's cheeseburger." This polish is really pretty. It's a soft minty green with a soft shimmery holo. The holo is a little stronger in person that in the pictures. The formula was fantastic and easy to work with. I did find the scent from this one a bit too strong though. Photos show two coats of Moose with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in natural lighting.
Hey Assbutt
"Hey Assbutt is a tan polish with blue and white glitter insprired by Castiel, and angel o God who just doesn't quite get how things work down here. Hey Assbut is scented with a light, cottony fragrance that smells like heaven." Again a great formula. This polish went opaque in two coats and didn't require dabbing for the glitter. This scent on this one was subtle as well but quite pleasant. Photos show two coats of Hey Assbutt with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in natural lighting.
Conclusion
I'm looking forward to trying more polishes from Finger Lickin' Lacquers. The formulas were all really good and easy to work with which is what I look for when trying a new brand. I also like that this collection mixes different styles of polish instead of being all holo's or all glitters. My personal favorite from these three is Moose.
