Colour Blocked Lead Lighting Nail Art

Hello readers,
I went a little crazy with the nail art and combined 6 polishes into one mani.  I started out with a base of Pretty & Polished Maleficium.  Over top I did two tone stamping using Julep Michelle, Zoya pinta and Cheeky jumbo plate D.  Finally, I filled in the design with sheer polishes to give it a colour blocked look.  The jellies I used were Finger Lickin' Lacquer Terrapin, Finger Lickin' Lacquer Here I Go and Zoya Frida.  Finally, I sealed everything up with a coat of CND Super Shiney top coat.  Photos were taken in daylight spectrum lighting.

Happy polishing,

Finger Lickin' Lacquer Washed Out Collection Swatches & Review Part II

Disclaimer:  This product was offered at a reduced price or at no charge to manicuremanifesto.com in exchange for published reviews.  All reviews are fair, honest and reflect my personal opinion.

Hello readers,
Today I have the second half of Finger Lickin' Lacquers Washed Out collection to show you.  If you missed the first half of the review you can check it out here.

Love You

Love You is a bright pink jelly with a strawberry daiquiri scent.  The formula on this one was quite good.  I didn't have to do too much work to get a streak-free finish.  The scent is quite light too, not overpowering.  Photos show two coats of Love You over two coats of Sally Hansen White On with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in natural lighting.

Long Gone

Long Gone  is an orange jelly with a dreamsicle scent.  The formula on this one was really good.  No streaks at all even though it's a jelly.  Like the others in this collection the scent is very light.  My camera coulnd't handle the brightness of this polish.  It is more neon in real life. Photos show two coats of Long Gone over two coats of Sally Hansen White On with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in natural lighting.

Terrapin

Finally we have Terrapin, a yellow leaning green jelly with a margarita scent.  This one actually smelled like sour green apple to me but either way, it was my favorite scent of the collection.  The formula on this one was excellent as well.  I had no issues with streaks.  Like Long Gone, this one is also more neon in real life.  Photos show two coats of Terrapin over two coats of Sally Hansen White on with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in natural lighting.

Conclusion

Overall I think this is a really good collection.  Most of the jellies out there tend to me darker colours so these are something different.  I see myself using these more for nail art than as stand alone colours but that's just my personal style.  I was also happy to find that all the scents are quite light and not at all overpowering which can be an issue with some scented cosmetics.  Overall I found Long Gone and Terrapin to have the best formulas.  It was really easy to get a streak free finish with those two.  You can find Finger Lickin' Lacquer at

Finger Lickin' Lacquer Washed Out Collection Swatches & Review Part I

Disclaimer:  This product was offered at a reduced price or at no charge to manicuremanifesto.com in exchange for published reviews.  All reviews are fair, honest and reflect my personal opinion.

Hello readers,
Today I have half of Finger Lickin' Lacquer's new Washed Out collection to show you. This collection features six bleached neon jellies. They all come scented but there's always the option of getting the same colours unscented if scented polishes aren't your thing.

Here I Go

Here I Go is a periwinkle blue jelly with a fruit punch scent. The formula on this one was a little tricky to work with. It applied very easily but because it was so sheer it took extra care not to have a streaky finish. I was able to even it out with two coats. The scent is very light and sweet. It is quite pleasant and not overpowering. Photos show two coats of Here I Go over two coats of Sally Hansen White On with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in natural lighting.

Octopus

Octopus is a bright purple jelly with a grape scent. Though it looks quite purple in the bottle I found it leaned more pink when worn over white. The formula on this one was easy to work with. I also had less of an issue with streaks than I did with Here I Go. Again, the scent was subtle and sweet. Photos show two coats of Octopus over two coats of Sally Hansen White On with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in natural lighting.

Golden Hair

Golden Hair is a bright yellow jelly with a pina colada scent. I had a hard time capturing the true brightness of this one. It is even more neon in real life. The formula on this one really surprised me. Yellows have a reputation for being streaky but this one had the best formula of the three jellies in this post. Like the others, the scent was light and sweet. Photos show two coats of Golden Hair over two coats of Sally Hansen White on with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in natural lighting.

Conclusion

I'm not usually one to go for really light polishes. They're just no my style. However, I can definitely see myself using these a lot in nail art. They'd be perfect for lead lighting, gradients and so much more. I think they'd look really cool layered over colours other than white as well and could add some squishiness to a creme polish.
