Zoya Calm Collection Swatches & Review

Zoya Calm Collection

Hello readers,
Looking outside it is definitely still winter, but today I have the Zoya Calm Collection for spring 2020 to share with you and get you thinking about warmer weather. Let's take a look at swatches.

AJ

Zoya AJZoya Calm

AJ features a shimmery base with tiny copper flecks. The formula was easy to work with and took two coats for full coverage. Photos show two coats of AJ with one coat of Zoya Naked Manicure Glossy Seal top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Colleen

Zoya ColleenZoya Calm

Colleen is a pale salmon pink creme. The formula was a bit streaky so I recommend top coat to help get a smooth even finish. I also found this shade leaned a little more pink on the nails than it did in the bottle. Photos show two coats of Colleen with one coat of Zoya Naked Manicure Glossy Seal top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Emerson

Emerson is a pale periwinkle blue creme. The formula was a little streaky on the first coat but evened out on the second. I do recommend top coat for a nice even finish. Photos show two coats of Emerson with one coat of Zoya Naked Manicure Glossy Seal top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Laura is a yellow leaning beige creme. I used two coats for full coverage here. No issues with the formula though I recommend top coat for a nice shiny finish. Photos show two coats of Laura with one coat of Zoya Naked Manicure Glossy Seal top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Leif

Leif is a pale muted green creme. The formula was quite good, especially for a pastel shade. I used two coats for full coverage. Photos show two coats of Leif with one coat of Zoya Naked Manicure Glossy Seal top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Vee

Vee is a medium muted amethyst purple creme. I found it did dry a bit darker on the nails than it looked in the bottle. Photos show two coats of Vee with one coat of Zoya Naked Manicure Glossy Seal top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.

Final Thoughts

Though there were no duds in the collection, the colour range didn't spark any excitement for me. I feel like I've seen very similar shades from Zoya before. However, if you don't own something similar already there are some good options in here. The Zoya Calm Collection is available now. You can find Zoya on

Happy polishing,

Michelle

  1. Emerson and Leif are lovely. I wonder how they would do with ridges? I have noticed lately my ridges on certain fingers are pretty bad :-( And these pastel like colours don't too well for me.

    1. As far as pastels go, these are pretty pigmented. With base coat and a good coat of top coat I think they'd do fine. I did find I had some ridges visible before top coat, but as I mentioned, top coat smoothed everything out no problem.

    2. Thanks. I rarely wear a top coat, so that is maybe where I am going wrong!
