Today I have Emily de Molly's upcoming February release to share with you. This collection features lots of foiled shimmers along with a variety of other finishes. Let's take a look at swatches.
Undertones
Undertones features a bright pink leaning purple base filled with a stron foiled blue shimmer. The formula was easy to work with and took two coats for full coverage. This shade dries to a satin finish so top coat is recommended for shine. Photos show two coats of Undertones with one coat of Essie Gel Couture top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Old Friend Of Mine
Old Friend Of Mine features a medium brown holo base filled with iridescent gold and copper flakes. The formula took two coats for full coverage and the flakies dried down quite smooth. Parallel Worlds
Parallel Worlds features a reddish-pinkish-purpleish base filled with green to blue shifting aurora shimmer. This thing is a chameleon and changes quite a bit depending on your lighting. I found in bright direct lighting it looks like the swatches below. In shaded lighting in leans more purple and the blue tones of the shimmer come out more. The formula was easy to work with and took two coats for full coverage. Photos show two coats of Parallel Worlds with one coat of Essie Gel Couture top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Sheer Thrills
Sheer Thrills features a pale greyed out purple base with a strong green to pink shifting shimmer and lots of green to purple shifting metallic flakes. No issues with the formula and I used two coats for full coverage. This dries with some flakie divots so you'll want to top coat it for a nice smooth finish. The Dragon King
The Dragon King features a deep khaki green crelly base filled with iridescent flakes in shades of pink, orange and green. The formula quite easy to work with (especially for a flakie filled crelly) and took two coats for full coverage. You'll want to add top coat to smooth out the occasional flakie divot. The Uttermost
The Uttermost features a super bright, almost neon, coral base filled with gold to purple shifting aurora shimmer. The formula was very easy to work with and really pigmented. I used two coats here for full coverage. Like the other foiled shimmers this dries to a satin finish so you'll want top coat for shine. A Better Tomorrow
A Better Tomorrow features a medium steely blue holo base with a soft green flash and a sprinkling of tiny holo glitters. The formula was excellent and took two thin coats for full coverage. Grace And Glory
Grace And Glory features a vibrant purple crelly (almost jelly) base filled with iridescent blue flakies. The formula was easy to work with and took two coats for full coverage. I found one coat of top coat leveled out 95% of the flakies but I wanted a perfect super squishy finish so I added a second. Final Thoughts
My personal favorites from this release are Grace And Glory, Parallel Worlds and A Better Tomorrow. The February collection will be releasing on Tuesday February 19th, 2019 at 10am AEDT on the Australian site and Monday February 18th, 2019 at 6pm EST on the US & International site.
