Lucky 13 Lacquer Iced Blueberries Swatches & Review

Hello readers!
Today I have a Lucky 13 Lacquer simple custom which is perfect for spring and Easter.  The speckled effect reminds me of my favorite Easter candy, Cadbury mini eggs. Nom nom nom!

Iced Blueberries features the white crelly base from Rising moon with the purple glitters from Fool Of A Took.  Kyoti warned be that the base on this one might be a little sheer, but I don't think she knew what she was talking about since the pictures below show only two coats!  The formula was great and really easy to apply.  The glitters spread out evenly without any extra effort from me.  Pictures show two coats of Iced Blueberries with one coat of HK Girl top coat in natural lighting.

After a day of wearing it on its own, I decided I wanted a little more sparkle.  I added one coat of OPI Pirouette My Whistle and another coat of HK Girl to seal everything up.  The pictures below were taken in natural lighting.

This polish is the perfect spring colour.  The formula was amazing and so easy to apply to get the perfect speckled look.  I think this has actually turned out to be one of my favorite L13L's. You can find Lucky 13 Lacquer at

Lucky 13 Lacquer Double, Double, Teal and Trouble and Silver Lining Swatches & Review

Hello readers!
Today I have two more of the simple customs I ordered from Lucky 13 Lacquer last fall.  I admit, I went a little overboard with ideas and ended up with a giant pile of one of a kind polishes.

Double, Double, Teal and Trouble

Double, Double, Teal and Trouble features the dark teal jelly base from Now wrath, now ruin, now red dawn mixed with the gold shimmer and glitter from Golden Snitch.  I think this one is one of my favorites.  Though the formula was a tad thick it still dried quickly.  I just love how squishy it looks and the glitters look like they're floating.  Photos show three coats of Double, Double, Teal and Trouble with one coat of Nubar Diamont top coat in natural lighting.

Silver Lining

But wait... what if you want even more shimmer??  That's where silver lining comes in.  This super shimmery topper is amazing.  It adds tons of extra shimmer without greying out the base colour.  The formula was fantastic, easy to apply and not streaky or patchy.  Pictures show one coat of silver linings over the previous manicure with one coat of Nubar Diamont top coat in natural lighting.

Conclusion

I am just loving these customs.  They were so much fun to make and since they're simple customs, super affordable too!  If you haven't entered my 1st Unblogaversary giveaway go do it now.  Lucky 13 Lacquer is one of my amazing prize sponsors.  If you can't wait to see if you won you can find Lucky 13 Lacquer at:

Lucky 13 Lacquer Public Anemone Number One Swatches & Review

Hello readers! Today I have another simple custom from Lucky 13 Lacquer to show you.  For a refresher on what constitutes a 'simple custom' go and check out this post.  If you remember what I'm talking about, let's check out the third simple custom I designed - Public Anemone Number One.

Public Anemone Number One features the base from Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey with the shimmer and glitters from I am no man.  The result is a blue jelly base with a subtle shimmer, small and medium gold glitters and medium emerald hexes.  This polish was little on the thick said but it still dried quite quickly so this wasn't an issue for me.  It went opaque after two coats but I added one more to get a little more glitter coverage.  Photos show three coats of Public Anemone Number One with one coat of Seche Vite in natural lighting.

I really like this polish.  Definitely a perfect bright rich blue for a beach vacation. If you want a simple custom of your very own get in touch with Kyoti via the Lucky 13 Lacquer website, or you can always send her a message on facebook.  I highly recommend.  Making these was so much fun!

Happy polishing,

Lucky 13 Lacquer Electric Abyss and Stereotypical Sapphire Swatches & Review

Hello readers! A few months ago I got Kyoti over at Lucky 13 Lacquer to make me a slew of simple custom polishes.  What is a simple custom you ask?  A simple custom takes pieces from existing polishes in the L13L and mixing them together.  Maybe you like the base from Polish A but would prefer it with the glitter mix from Polish B.  Or, perhaps you love a polish but want to exlude one of the glitters in the mix.  That kind of stuff!  Basically, you can mix and match from existing polishes.  Today I have two of the polishes I had made to show you.  One of the funnest parts is coming up with the names to put on your creation.  For these too I chose Electric Abyss and Stereotypical Sapphire.

Electric Abyss was created by adding the shimmer from Big-City Dandy to a blurple jelly base instead of the original black jelly base.  Stereotypical Sapphire was created by taking out the moon and star glitter from Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey and replacing half of the medium ocean blue glitters with medium purple glitter.  See what I mean about tweaking existing polishes to make them your own?  I used Electric Abyss as my main mani colour and used Stereotypical Sapphire on my accent nail.  I found Electric Abyss a tad thick but it dried quickly so that turned out to be a non-issue.  (My usual fear of thick polishes as that they will take forever and a half to dry).  There was a slight reflective curl to the glitter in Stereotypical Sapphire but didn't translate to a physical curl on the nail.  Photos show three coats of Electric Abyss.  On my ring finger I have two coats of Stereotypical Sappire over one coat of Electric Abyss.  I accidentally forgot I was doing an accent nail until after the first coat, oops!  Everything was topped with one coat of seche vite.

So what do you think?  I'm leaning towards Electric Abyss as my favorite of these two.  I'm just love that squishy shimmer finish (and I don't have to fight to get glitter off).  I had so much fun creating these and Kyoti was very patient with all my requests.  I'm pretty sure I sent over a dozen emails containing idea, tweaks and suggestions.  If you want a simple custom of your very own get in touch with Kyoti via the Lucky 13 Lacquer website, or you can always send her a message on facebook.  I really need to try the other ones she sent me now.

Happy Polishing!
