Birchbox Canada February 2016 Unboxing & Review

Hello readers,
Today I have the last ever Canadian Birchbox to share with you.  A couple weeks ago they announced that they were suspending Canadian operations.  I'm pretty disappointed since this is a sub I had liked enough to renew for another.  This month we had a sample choice for which I chose the OCC Black Metal Dahlia lip tar, a shade I have been coveting for a long time.  Let's see what else accompanied it in this month's box.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar - Black Metal Dahlia | Full-size $18

This is the sample I knew was coming.  I was worried when my preview said I was getting something else, but luckily the preview was wrong.  I've tried lots of other shades of OCC lip tars and loved them so this is a sample I'm really looking forward to testing out.  Based on the $20 price on the Birchbox website, this mini tube is worth $11.83.

Color Club Mini Polish - That's My Jam | Full-size $11

I really like Color Club but I'm not a fan of red polishes.  This one will end up being swapped.  This sample is worth $5.50.

12 Benefits Instant Healthy Hair Treatment | Full-size $26

I'm not sure if this is a great fit for me.  I don't colour my hair and I don't blow dry it often.  I guess I'll save it for the odd time that I do?  This sample is worth $6.50.

Naobay HydraPlus Cream | Full-size $43

Not super exciting, but face cream will definitely get used.  Based on the $29.60 price on the Birchbox website, this sample is worth $17.76.

Cartier La Panthere | Full-size $76-$108

Perfume is not my thing.  It will join my stash of other perfume samples to be gifted to a friend at some point.  Based on the $124 price on the Birchbox website, this sample is worth $3.72.

The total value of this box is $45.31.  While not the best box I've ever received, the OCC lip tar made it worth it for me.  Hopefully Birchbox will open their subscription to Canada again sometime in the future.

Happy polishing,
