Hello hello! I'm Katherine from ProcrastiNails and I'm so excited to be able to share my guest post with you today while Michelle is away. :) My design is a fun and simple ombre look that I'm really pleased with - I hope you like it, too!
I love pulling inspiration from patterns on pinterest and the design I was inspired by today is this nodes and lines print. I loved how simple yet complex the original print looked and I thought I could have a lot of fun redesigning it on my nails. To put it together I did a series of scattered dots and then went at it with a striping brush to connect them in random ways. It was all done with polish from a Black Art Club Nail Striper. Super simple!
To make the look a wee bit more interesting I decided to do my base as an ombre because why not! When doing an ombre some people like to pull sets of polishes they own that are already in the same colour family, but I just grab two shades and do some mixing to get all the degrees I need. At one end of today's ombre I have Essie Blanc and on the other I have the lovely China Glaze Fade Into Hue. Mix your middle ombre colours and apply with a paint brush and you're good to go. After I did the design on top I finished it with a layer of Essie Matte About You top coat (after a layer of Seche Vite since matte top coats tend to smear) to finish it off.
Again, really pleased with how this turned out! It makes me think of science and patterns and connections, and I think those are all pretty cool things to express on your nails. :) Let me know what you think of the design and ombre colours, and thanks again to Michelle for letting me share my art with you! xx Katherine
