Indie Expo Canada 2019 Coverage

Indie Expo Canada

Hello readers,
Last weekend I had the chance to attend the third Indie Expo Canada in Toronto, Ontario as part of the official press team. Along with the sales event on Sunday, I also attended the Polish Making Workshop on Saturday for the first time which was so much fun. I'll have more details on that in another post. Today let's take a look at what was up for grabs on Sunday's vending event.

Alter Ego Body Care Products

Alter Ego

Alter Ego has been at every IEC and brought a table packed with polish and body care products. Their bottles have a beautiful vintage aesthetic to them. I also loved the Canadian themed acetone additives. The names all made me chuckle. You can find Alter Ego Body Care Products on

Bee's Knees Lacquer

Bees Knees Polish

Bee's Knees Lacquer must have enjoyed their experience at last year's IEC because they were back again this year. Along with some of their core shades, they had a bunch of polishes typically sold in mystery bags except for IEC shoppers, they weren't a mystery. I snagged a few to add to my collection. I couldn't resist the shimmers. Bee's Knees also brought a bunch of their body care products which have received rave reviews. You can find Bee's Knees Lacquer on

Clionadh Cosmetics

Clionadh

I discovered Clionadh Cosmetics at the very first IEC two years ago and they have exploded since. Their recent Stained Glass Collection featuring stunning multichrome eyeshadows sells out almost instantly whenever a new batch is stocked. I managed to wait until IEC before buying any so I could see them all in person. I walked away with a dent in my budget and seven shifty Jewelled Multichrome shadows. Totally worth it. You can find Clionadh Cosmetics on

Crystal Knockout

Crystal Knockout Nail Polish

Crystal Knockout is a relatively new brand and this was their first year at IEC. They bring their love of all things sparkly to their polish shades. You can find Crystal Knockout on

Cuter Cuticles

Cuter Cuticles Oils

Cuter Cuticles is another IEC veteran having attended all three years. Their line of hand and nail care is one of my favorites, and I am addicted to the lemon cupcake scent. I stocked up on their acetone additives and lip balms. The only reason I didn't get more is I still have some stockpiles at home. You can find Cuter Cuticles on

Dream Of Glitter

Dream Of Glitter Nail Polish

This was Dream Of Glitter's first IEC. They brought a mix of polish and bath products. Their Earth Bath Bomb smelled especially delicious and features biodegradable glitter that's better for the environment. You can find Dream Of Glitter on

EasterMia

EasterMia Nail Polish

EasterMia is a new-to-me Canadian brand. The owner Mia is a nail esthetician who wanted to create vegan, cruelty-fre polish that anyone can use. You can find EasterMia on

Ethereal Lacquer

Ethereal Nail Polish

This was Ethereal Lacquer's first IEC. The Canadian border clearly loved their polishes as much of the attendees because they held a couple of boxes of stock hostage over the weekend. Attendees will be able to order from the Girly Bits site afterwards, so not to worry if you missed out on a shade that was on your shopping list. You can find Ethereal Lacquer on

Flirtin' Cosmetics

Flirtin' Cosmetics Nail Polish

Flirtin' Cosmetics is another new-to-me brand, though they've been around for several years. This was their first time at IEC. The saturated colours of the Summer Smoothie collection caught my eye. You can find Flirtin' Cosmetics on

Girly Bits Cosmetics

Girly Bits polish

Girly Bits is the brand behind the expo. Along with lots of permanent products, this year they debuted the new Misheard Lyrics collection (which everyone needs, they are amazing). I was drawn in by the one of a kind samples and ended up bringing five home with me. You can find Girly Bits Cosmetics on

Great Lakes Lacquer

Great Lakes Lacquer Nail Polish

Great Lakes Lacquer attended the first IEC, wasn't able to make it last year but was back again this year (and I am so glad they were). My favorite moment with Mariah from GLL was when she got really excited about the polish I had on my toes, not realizing it was a shade I had ordered from her brand weeks earlier. Along with some current collections GLL brought a bunch of small batches which are always in high demand. You can find Great Lakes Lacquer on

KBShimmer & Harlow & Co

Harlow & Co

Harlow & Co, a Canadian stockist, attended for the first time as a vendor and was representing the brand KBShimmer. KBShimmer is one of the OG indie polish brands so I was really excited to be able to pick out some of their stuff in person. I love that they still share my love of a good glitter crelly. You can find KBShimmer on

Lollipop Posse Lacquer

Lollipop Posse Lacquer nail polish

Lollipop Posse Lacquer was at IEC for the first time. This brand has been on my radar for a while now but I hadn't had the chance to try out much of their stuff. That will soon change as I picked up a few shades to bring home with me. You can find Lollipop Posse Lacquer on

LynB Designs

LynB Designs polish

LynBDesigns had a table at IEC last year, but this year the owner, Jennalyn, was able to attend in person. It was her first ever trip to Canada! I snagged a few shades to add to my collection along side my first every indies, Little Foot and Iocaine Powder. You can find LynB Designs on

Paint It Pretty Polish

Paint It Pretty Polish

I met the Paint It Pretty Polish team last year at IEC and I feel like they've gained tons of traction in the indie market since then. I'm pretty sure Sherri loves blues, teals and purples as much as I do since there were so many to choose from. You can find Paint It Pretty Polish on

Rogue Lacquer

Rogue Lacquer was back this year with lots of new shades. I swear they can do no wrong with flakies. You can find Rogue Lacquer on

SoGa Artisan Soaperie

SoGa Soaps

SoGa Soaps, one of my favorite bath bomb brands, was back this year. Their stuff just smells so good and is made with quality ingredients. I resisted buying in person since I still have some stuff to use up at home. However, I guarantee I'll be ordering online once I need more. You can find SoGa Artisan Soaperie on

The Nail Bazaar

The Nail Bazaar Nail Polish

The Nail Bazaar is a new to IEC and new to me brand. I was especially drawn in by the vibrant cobalt blue in their summer collection. You can find The Nail Bazaar on

UberChic Beauty

UberChic Beauty attended IEC for the first time and brought piles of stamping plates and nail art supplies with them. You can find UberChic Beauty on

Zombie Claw Polish

Zombie Claw Nail Polish

Zombie Claw Polish also attended IEC for the first time. This is another new to me brand but they certainly seem to be gaining some traction in the indie polish world. You can find Zombie Claw on
