Born Pretty Store Chameleon Holo Flakes #1 Swatches & Review

Born Pretty Store Chameleon Holo Flakes

Hello readers,
Today I continue my experiments using gel effects flakes with regular polish. I think I've finally got a good technique down so let's see the results with Born Pretty Store's Chameleon Holo Flakes in shade #1.

For this nail art I started with a base of Zoya Presley with a coat of Girly Bits Cosmetics Glitter Glaze top coat that was completely dry. I used my finger tip to run on the first layer of BPS Chameleon Holo Flakes in shade #1 until it blended to a shiny even finish. Then I added a coat of Picture Polish Revolution and waited for it to dry. Note, this took a little longer to dry than I anticipated and that resulted in a couple dents near my nail tips. So, if you thing it's dry, give it another minute just to be safe. I rubbed a second layer of flakes on with my fingertip until I was happy with the finish. Since I really wanted to retain the chrome finish, I opted not to use top coat over the second layer of flakes. Photos were taken in daylight spectrum lighting.

I really like the mix of holo and chrome in these flakes. Using this method the tip wear for the flakes became pretty noticeable a couple days in. You could add top coat over the second layer to make them wear longer but so far I haven't found a non-gel top coat that doesn't break up the chrome finish. Still pretty, but not quite the same. You can find Born Pretty Store on

Happy polishing,

Michelle
