Oil Slick Nails Featuring Born Pretty Store Chameleon Flake 2734

Born Pretty Store Chameleon flake

Hello readers,
Today I continue my experiments using gel effects flakes over regular polish. Last time I tested a different shade of Born Pretty Store's Chameleon Flakes I incorporated them into some nail art. This time I tried out a full coverage look with shade 2734. Let's take a look at how things turned out.

I started this look with a base of OPI Pamplona Purple and let it dry completely. Based on the suggestion in a tutorial by Nail Experiments I used my finger tip instead of a silicon 'brush' to rub the flakes onto the dry polish. Then I added a coat of Picture Polish Revolution foil top coat, waited for it to dry and applied a second coat of flakes. Once I was happy with the coverage I sealed things up with another coat of PP Revolution.

... and a couple more shots in shaded lighting to really bring out the shift.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the outcome. I'm still figuring out the best technique to get an even full coverage finish but my nails are definitely shiny and shifty. Adding Picture Polish Revolution as a top coat definitely increased the lifespan of the flakes. You can find Born Pretty Store on

Happy polishing,

Michelle
