Today I have the new Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liner in the shade Lolita to share with you. I was lucky enough to get this through Influenster and thought the family gatherings over Easter weekend with lots of food and wine were the perfect chance to test it out.
Everlasting Lip Liner in Lolita
Lolita is a warm chestnut rose creme with a matte finish. This is a great my lips but better shade for me. The liner itself is really creamy and glides on without any tugging. I first tested it out by itself and used it as a full lip colour. The results were disappointing. You can already see a little patchiness in the swatches below right after application. Within a couple hours it started to crumble off and felt really gritty on my lips. I was really hoping the liner would work as a long wearing lip colour when applied alone but it lasted less time than a lot of my lipsticks.
Everlasting Lip Liner + Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita
For my second test I used the liner around the outer edge of my lips and the matching Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick to fill in the rest. Despite being the same shade name, the liner was a smidge lighter than the liquid lipstick; though it wasn't really noticeable though unless you looked really closely. This combination worked much better than the liner by itself. I made it through two meals without having to reapply. The liner stayed put and I didn't have any problems with bleeding or feathering colour.
Conclusion
I really like this liner when used in combination with a matching lipstick. It's really comfortable to apply and stays put like you need it to. However, don't expect it to multitask and double as long lasting lipstick as well. You can find Kat Von D on
