Today I have two shades that caught my eye from the Essie Summer 2016 collection to share with you. You know I love my flecked shimmers, so it's no surprised that I had to get Loot The Booty and Viva Antigua! Let's take a close look at these two shades.
Loot The Booty
Loot The Booty features a cobalt blue base with silver flecked shimmer. The good news: this shade was opaque in on coat. The bad news: the formula was quite thick and dragged. The shimmer is also not as strong on the nail as it is in the bottle. I would have preferred a thinner formula that took two coats to become opaque. Photos show one coat of Loot The Booty with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Viva Antigua!
Viva Antigua! features a teal base with a strong pale green flecked shimmer. The formula was perfect and was easily opaque in two coats. Unlike Loot The Booty the shimmer in this shade is just as strong and pretty on the nail as it is in the bottle. Photos show two coats of Viva Antigua! with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in daylight spectrum lighting.
Conclusion
I really love Viva Antigua! The formula was perfect and the shade itself is really pretty and summery. I was disappointed in Loot The Booty's formula but the shade is quite pretty so I think I'll try adding some thinner to make it easier to work with. You can find Essie on
