Tree Branch Nail Art Featuring Born Pretty Store Liner Brush

Tree Nail Art

Hello readers,
Today I have some nail art that I rarely attempt to share with you ... free-hand nail art.  I had the chance to test out a striping brush from Born Pretty Store.  I wanted to see how it compared to my super cheap set that I bought off ebay back when I first started attempting nail art of any kind.

The Born Pretty Store liner brush has a handle similar to a pen width.  I found this much easier to work with than the super skinny handles of my other brushes, especially when holding it with my non-dominant hand.  Before using, I oiled the bristles with a drop of cuticle oil to keep them them together.  The brush was definitely easier to use than my older one and I got nice smooth lines for my tree branches.  I also like that the top half of the handle (the gold part) comes off and acts as a cap for the bristles while not in use.

Now for the art itself.  I was inspired by some tree branch silhouette nail art by Kimiko7878 on instagram.  My base colour was China Glaze Gossip Over Gimlets and the leaf design was painted with China Glaze Liquid Leather.  I used the BPS liner brush for the branches and a shorter nail art brush for the leaves.  Guys, tiny leaves are hard to paint, but I don't think I did too bad for a first attempt.  Finally, I sealed everything up with a coat of Girly Bits Glitter Glaze.  Photos were taken in daylight spectrum lighting.

I'm really happy with this brush for creating smooth sweeping lines .  I'm definitely going to see if they have any others in the same style (maybe to help me with my leaves!).  If you're picking up any nail art supplies from Born Pretty Store make sure to use the coupon code MSTK31 for 10% your order of regular priced items.

Happy polishing,

Michelle
