Hello Waffle Visage March 2016 Swatches & Review

Hello waffle visage swatch

Hello readers,
My March Visage subscription from Hello Waffle Cosmetics arrived a couple days ago (Canada Post seems super efficient when it comes to Hello Waffle!).  This month's theme was the Three Little Bears and is centered around neutral shades and glowing skin.  You know I love my blushes and highlighters, so this focus fits my style perfectly.  Let's take a look at this month's goodies.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics - A Curious Little Girl Liquid Lipstick

This liquid lipstick sample is a preview into things to come from Hello Waffle and was included this month as a bonus to test out the formula.  The shade A Curious Little Girl is described as a pinky-nude with a golden shimmer though once the formula dries matte the shimmer doesn't really show through.  In terms of application this reminds me a lot of my beloved Mirenesse Mattfinity Lip Rouge.  It starts out tacky but dries down matte within a few minutes of application.  Also, this lipstick smells like heavenly vanilla frosting.  The shade itself is a bit too pale for my skin tone, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what other shades will be released for this new product.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics - A Little Lonely House Eyeshadow

A Little Lonely House is described as a dirty champagne shimmer.  Once blended I found it had a nice bronze sheen to it as well.  The swatch shown here is over Urban Decay Primer Potion.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics - Big Bear Bronzer

Big Bear is described as a warm bronze shimmer.  This bronzer is fairly sheer but can be built up.  It has a soft sheen but isn't sparkly.  The swatch shown here is over bare skin.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics - Little Bear Highlighter

Little Bear is described as a soft peachy highlighter.  Over my medium skin I found that the lighter champagne sheen was the predominant colour.  It has lots of shimmer and is well pigmented so you could also use it as a shadow.  The swatch shown here is over bare skin.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics - Middle Bear Blush

Middle Bear is described as a deep pink shimmer.  This blush can be blended out or built up to a good level of pigmentation and has a soft shimmery finish.  The swatch shown here is over bare skin.

Hello Waffle Cosmetics - Ruined Porridge Lip Colour

Ruined Porridge is described as a milky terracotta orange.  It is the usual moisturizing Hello Waffle lip colour formula and has a lovely vanilla scent.  The shade is fairly sheer.  The swatch shown here took three swipes to reach this level of coverage.  When built up, this orange shade just doesn't work with my skin tone, but I'm going to experiment layering it with some other shades.  I should also note that this does stain your lips a fairly bright pink quite quickly.

Rascal Cosmetics - Wildflowers Eyeshadow

The guest indie this month was Rascal Cosmetics.  Their shadow Wildflowers is described as a pink with golden shimmer.  I love how strong the gold sheen is without being super sparkly.  The swatch shown here is over Urban Decay Primer Potion.

Conclusion

I am super pleased with this month's Visage.  There were way more items than I was expecting (seven!) and I love the high concentration of face products. You can find Hello Waffle Cosmetics on

Happy polishing,

Michelle

    1. Thanks Heather! I love dark lip colours (especially for winter), but this way I get to try out shades I wouldn't normally pick for myself.
