Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate BPL-028 Review

Hello readers,
Today I have a stamping plate from Born Pretty Store to share with you.  I've used some of their smaller plates in the past but this is the first time I've tried one of their larger rectangular plates.

Plate BPL-028 features a variety of lace inspired designs.  Some are the standard rectangular design and some are larger circular designs.  I usually use a plastic scraper but I found that I got a much cleaner image using a metal scraper with this plate though I'm not really sure what caused this difference.  I used my marshmallow Moyou London stamper to pick up the designs.

For polishes I started with a base of Zoya Iris.  Then I stamped on the design using China Glaze Sleeping Under The Stars (though it didn't contrast with the base as much as I had hoped) and Color Club What A Drag on my ring finger.  Everything was sealed up with a coat of CND Super Shiney top coat.  Photos show the mani in daylight spectrum lighting.

Overall this is a good plate for the price.  Once you find a scraper that gets along with the plate, the images were easy to pick up and had nice crisp edges.  If you're picking up any nail art supplies from Born Pretty Store make sure to use the coupon code MSTK31 for 10% your order of regular priced items.

Happy polishing,

Michelle

  1. It's nice to see that the Born Pretty plates are decent quality. I've debated about picking them up for a while now, but your review is just the push I needed. Do you have any favorite plates you would recommend?

    1. They are pretty good. The etchings a bit shallower than say moyou london plates, but the price difference is huge. The result is the odd polish that's less opaque but you can still get away with a deeply etched plate might not work as well, but your trusty opaque polishes will work just fine. I really like plate BP-10 (http://www.thelazylaquerista.com/2015/10/blue-and-metallic-nude-abstract-swirls.html), BP-04, BP-17(http://www.thelazylaquerista.com/2015/01/new-years-eve-nail-stamping-with-models.html).

For this round of review I also got BP LO14, BP L002 and BPL-026 which are the same larger rectangular style as the one in this review. I haven't had a chance to test them out yet, but they look to be of the same quality as this one. Hope that helps! :)
