Irresistible Me Sapphire 8 in 1 Complete Curling Wand Review

Hello readers,
Today I have something a little different to show you.  I had the chance to test and review Irresistible Me's Sapphire 8 in 1 Curing Wand.  I'm always looking for efficient effective styling tools to tame my hair so I was excited to give this one a try.

This curling wand comes with a single hand and eight interchangeable barrels.  It also includes a handy carrying case for all the barrels, a heat resistant glove to protect your hand while styling and a little stand to rest the wand on when it's hot. I like that the power button has to be held for couple of seconds before turning on or off. I'm totally one to accidentally press it while styling and then wondering why my wand isn't hot anymore. I also like that the interchangeable barrels lock into place so there's no risk of them separating from the handle when they're hot.

My natural hair sits on the border of curly and wavy and tends to get quite fluffy if left to its own devices.  I started by finger combing some Garnier Fructis Split End Bandage though towel dried hair and letting it air dry in a messy bun.  This left me with hair that was smooth near the roots and kinked at the ends from being in a bun.

I decided to try out the pearl barrel from the set for a more natural curled look.  Since my hair has a natural curl to it, it does hold heat styled curls quite well so I didn't add any extra styling products for hold. I took medium sections of hair and wrapped them towards the tip of the barrel. I did find that the rubberized tip of the barrel was still hot to the touch so I just held the end of the hair sections slightly away from the barrel with my fingers. After holding the sections there for about five seconds I unwrapped them and let them fall. (Unwrapping each section produced a nicer curl than just pulling the barrel out of the wrapped section). It took me just under half an hour to do my entire head of hair, which isn't too bad. That's definitely doable on a workday morning. Here are the results of my first time using this curling wand.

Sorry for the selfie style photos.  My camera shutter remote decided to stop working today but I still really wanted to show off my new curls.  Not too bad for a first attempt!  I really love the varying curl width that you get with the pearl barrel.  It helps add to a natural looking finish.  I also found the little stand for the curling wand super helpful.  No more making sure it's not touching a scorch-able counter top.  You can find the Sapphire 8 in 1 Complete Curling Wand for $199 along with a wide assortment of other hair tools, accessories and products on:

Happy polishing,

Michelle
