Birchbox Canada August 2015 Unboxing & Review

Hello readers,
My Birchbox arrived in the mail so it's time to share what was inside.  This month the sneak peek said we would be getting a Laqa & Co Cheeky Lip Tint in either Cray Cray - coral, or Humble Brag - pink.  I was hoping for the pink one.  Let's see which option I got and what else made up this month's box.

St. Tropez Gradual Tan In Shower | Full-size $31

This sample is a bust for me.  I don't use self tanners and I already have tan skin thanks to genetics.  This is definitely going up for swap.  Sample value: $7.40.

amika Un.Done Texture Spray | Full-size $26.50

I don't really style my hair much and this is the third month in a row that I've gotten a hair styling product... 2/3 of which were texturizing sprays.  I'll probably give this a try to do a messy braid or something... but not a product I'm excited about.  Sample value: $3.82

Crabtree & Evelyn Ultra-Moisturizing Hand Therapy | Full-size $32

Finally! Something I'll actually use up and enjoy.  I go through a lot of hand creme and this one smells really nice.  It will be going to my desk at work. Sample value: $5.66.

LAQA & Co. Charm School Kit | Set of 3 $26

Unfortunately I got the color I was hoping not to get, the coral.  However, I'm sure I'll be able to trade with someone who feels the same way about the pink.  The sample itself looks like a reasonable size until you twist up the tube.  There's maybe a centimeter of product in there.  The packaging is very deceiving.  They didn't have product volume listed on the Birchbox website, but the tubes look like the same size as this sample.  Sample value: $8.67.

Balance Me Congested Skin Serum | Full-size $34

I usually have a pimple or two kicking around my face so this is something I will use.  Can I get super excited about zit cream? Not really, but at least it will get used up eventually.  Sample value $15.87.

Conclusion

This month's box was worth $41.42, which is significantly more than the $14.95 I paid for it.  Even though the value is high, I'm having a hard time getting excited about the products.  Hopefully I will get my hands on the pink Laqa & Co lip pencil since that was the sample I was most looking forward too.  If you want to find out more check out the Birchbox Canada website.  Don't forget to review your box items for an extra $5 in Birchbox points.

Happy polishing,

Michelle
